It is with pleasure that I can announce to you steelbook fans something that has been in the works for a while. From Scanavo comes Blu-ray Fr4me.

FR4ME™ presents a new generation of packaging. Scanavo’s FR4ME™ is a stylish, collectable and unique new way to package media.

It is Scanavo’s designers’ aim to add more collector value to media packaging and with it‘s stylish design and creative choices Fr4me™ does not disappoint!
Fr4me™ is the first packaging which gives Blu-rayTM owners the choice to customise their pack with their preferred choice of artwork. Fr4me™ can even stand, unaided, in a horizontal position like a real frame.

It’s stylish, minimalistic looks have presented a major attraction to film studio Universal Pictures, who have commissioned it for the UK release of their Sci-fi blockbuster OBLIVION, starring Tom Cruise.

Within its innate ability to house a range of artwork, Fr4me™ can accommodate media on a range of materials, for instance lenticular. There is a special physical closeness to the artwork for the owner as there is no plastic film covering. A multitude of creative options exist for film studios to make Fr4me™ ideal for any genre and title.

Fr4me™ comes in a wide range of standard colours and the durable ABS substrate from which the outer ‘frames’ are made adds an exclusive touch which further redefines Blu-rayTM packaging.

With Scanavo comes the natural reassurance of quality. Scanavo - the premium packaging specialists - have created something worthy of the quality of Blu-rayTM. In a still strong physical media market, Fr4me™ adds value back into packaging and is sure to kick-start a whole new community of collectors.

OBLIVION packed in Fr4me™ will be available at most major UK retailers.
More exciting options for Fr4me™ will be developed in the near future!

Fr4me™ is a patented media packaging by Scanavo. Heard first at Hi-def Ninja

It'll be interesting to say the least .... we'll see. I ordered one to check out. Looks pretty cool.

Im definitely intrigued to say the least but I would have to see more pics or one in person to generate a solid opinion. It looks like it takes up a lot of space

Interesting...I would like to know what the frame is made out of, and more about the mechanics of how the movie snaps in our out. Not sure how many of these fit on a shelf etc...curious to see more.

back on topic, lets see some other movies and I'll certainly check one out

What bothers me actually it's size, I find it a bit big for my taste. ((I'm talking about borders))

With this kind of case, we can say goodbye to the title of the film on the slice

In the photo it is a plastic box?

Thank you in advance

ah yes, and I though I saw this but then thought it meant the studios

"Fr4me™ is the first packaging which gives Blu-rayTM owners the choice to customise their pack with their preferred choice of artwork"

but how do we place the artwork in

I dont have the answer to that quite yet ... also curiuos myself as we've seen slipcovers that allowed you to place artwork within so it might not be the only one ... or it could be ... guess we'll see come release. In any case its nice to see some fresh new ideas also coming on to the table
