I saw this in the cinema here in the UK a few months ago and there is an extended animated history of Oren and that is quite a bit longer than originally with extra scenes, the house of blue leaves fight is in colour and uncut as per the Japanese DVD I have plus a few other bits and a new modern digital animated fight scene after the end credits finish. He also removed the catch up at the start of volume 2.
Sweet that’s what I thought. I’ve just realised I read @BDDB post wrong too so apologies there

If it was black and white it is now colour but silhouette is used instead, like so:

Sorry man I read your post wrong. I thought you said the black and white fight scene is still present my bad

That silhouette scene is in the original. She cuts his sword down, spanks him with her sword and tell him to run home to his mum

Wow talk about let down, all that hype and splat, nothing but just editing the two together.

Boy o boy top it off with an intermission and a few extras that would be delightful
I saw this in the cinema, there was an intermission, extended anime section, and the whole scene in Tokyo was in colour, so I think it's more than just edited together. My bladder took one for the team that day.

I was kinda joking around and completely believe you saw what everyone wants.

I just am not as sure anymore that we’re going to get the version you saw in theaters.

A few weeks ago I was certain we would get the full release on blu-ray of what you saw in theaters. Now I’m not so sure.

Btw a real fan would have brought a catheter! See above diagram

I wouldn't be remotely surprised if that turned out to be the case. Tarantino has always professed over the years to being a massive fan of home video and in a manner that suggests he's one of us. I do believe that's the case ( or a least it was the case ) but he hasn't always delivered what I'm sure we all want. Which of course is everything he's done onto physical releases. I remember him saying that the roadshow version of The Hateful Eight was only suitable for presentation in ultrapanavision and that it wouldn't be available anywhere else. He can watch the 70mm Ultrapanavision roadshow version of The Hateful Eight anytime he wants but we can't. I think we can all appreciate the beauty of any widescreen film being best when projected in top theatre/cinema and releasing that version on home video doesn't detract from that difference in anyway in my opinion and also none of us are watching widescreen films at home on a 29 inch CRT anymore. Basically he seems willing to gatekeep certain versions and he definitely hasn't been in any rush to give us The Whole Bloody Affair. I really hope we get what I saw in the cinema months ago as I'm still watching these at home from the Japanese DVD's as those were not re-released on Blu-ray. There was a Japanese Blu-ray with exactly the same cover as the uncut DVD's but it is the international version.

Yeah, it's been up for download at the usual places we can not mention for 3 months now. 4hr 13mins total running time.
Mate honestly this has blown my mind because social media is acting like it gets released on digital on Friday but I think it means it’s just on Peacock now I’ve looked into it and I was not aware it’s been out to watch digitally since Feb!

I mean those sites, cough cough no idea what you’re on about …. I’ve not seen it on them at all which I find weird
