HERE COMES THE BRIDE

Box Gif

Quentin Tarantino brought his revenge-driven homage to martial arts and exploitation epics to the big screen in two volumes, starring Uma Thurman as a deadly assassin (The Bride), hellbent on righting the wrongs of her past.

A seasoned ensemble cast takes on The Bride, including Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, David Carradine, and Sonny Chiba, unleashing torment and bloodshed in true Tarantino fashion.

The original US Theatrical Cuts for both films are showcased on both 4K UHD in Dolby Vision and on Blu-ray, accompanied by archival Special Features.

This strictly Limited Edition packaging features a large hardbox with a flip lenticular panel, showcasing the iconic poster artwork for each film. This is a heavy, bespoke collector’s item, measuring 24 x 32cm, weighing in at 1.5kg, and comes replete with comprehensive physical extras:

  • A full-colour matte laminated 27″ x 40″ folded reprint of the Original Theatrical One-Sheet for Kill Bill: Volume 1;
  • A full-colour matte laminated 27″ x 40″ folded reprint of the Original Theatrical Poster for Kill Bill: Volume 1;

I have the large format photo cards and a hardcover 'booklet' from the French big box DVD edition, but they're different, and in French, obviously, so despite absolutely no need in this, I think I want it... :facepalm:

What are people's opinions of these boxes like raging bull etc how do they look beside your normal edition full slips are they really oversized?

I reached out to Via Vision and for those hoping for a new encode unfortunately they confirmed this won't be a new transfer or encode. Full response below.

'This release will use the same masters as the previous 4K UHD releases of the films.'

From The Digital Bits website:

Lionsgate, the studio has announced that they’re finally going to be releasing Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair—incorporating Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) as a single film—theatrically on 12/5. This will include a never-before-seen animated sequence. There will be both 35mm and 70mm showings (in select theaters). You can read more today via Deadline.

This of course has led many to ask if The Whole Bloody Affair will be released on physical media as well. No official details on this are as yet available, but stay tuned. We’ll certainly share any news on this front as soon as it’s available
