I'm not sure what's happening here :-/

The extended editions are too big to fit on one blu ray. That's it. If you want it on one disc then get the original unextended edition.

Fellowship is nearly 4 hours long. In 1080p. With multiple HD audio channels. It comes to around 70gb. A blu ray holds about 50gb. Yes there are dual layer blu rays but a lot of players can't read them.

All I am saying is the only way I will re buy my exteded LOTR's is IF they ever come in a one disk per movie thats all flower .

Who knows what Warner have planned for relises now The Hobbit Trilogy has finished ? .

i suspect as someone has said before this will end up on a 4k release with largest disc being 100gb i suspect can take it all one film on a disc also there has been a trial with a 1tb disc as well, which come along on time.

personally i got american normal steels better art with discs swapped out for uk extended ones. personally i prefer 2 discs it lets you goto toilet etc.
