Source: Heat Vision September 28, 2010

Black Swan helmer Darren Aronofsky has joined the list of potential directors for Warner Bros.' new Superman movie, reports Heat Vision.

The list includes Duncan Jones, Jonathan Liebesman, Matt Reeves, Tony Scott and Zack Snyder. The trade adds that Ben Affleck was also briefly in the running but he is reportedly no longer pursuing the job.

Aronofsky is said to be in active talks, though it's early.

Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas will executive produce the film, targeted for a 2012 release.

Just back from watching it and the movie was... how do i best describe it one word.... GRAND!!!!

It was a epic movie that felt very large. I really-really loved it. I do feel like they tried to tell a really big story in a short time which came at the cost of some short-sighted character development.

Aside from that small nitpick this movie was amazing. It walks all over SuperMan Returns thats for sure.

IMO it does live up to the hype. The action sequences were just EPIC! Zack Snyder's keen eye and artistic story-boarding ability definitely shows's as well in the movie. And Henry Cavil as SuperMan impressed. Definitely has everything needed to be the Man of Steel.

I could go on and on really, but...

9/10 in my mind. Dont miss this at the big screen peeps.

Just came back from watching this. I agree with the above two comments, absolutely amazing! Fight scenes were awesome, score was out-of-this-world, Henry Cavill was the perfect to play Superman. All put together fantastic well by Snyder, Nolan and Goyer.

I'm sooo happy they made this work.

I tend to smile for no reason for a hours after watching a really awesome movie at the theatre, lol.

And agreed on the score which I forgot to mention.... Epic as well.

was very happy after seeing this

one nitpicking point, wouldn't just starting the terraforming machine where the two crafts were fing witht he gravity and density and all that other stuff even for a few minutes completely ruin earth

alright rant over was much happier after this than IM3, though still debating between ST:ID

That's fantastic news, thanks Ash. Hope Nolan still has a part to play in this!

Thanks Marc! Will get an order placed today, via HDN ;)

Great movie, but the story was weak at parts.other then that it was great. The action was epic as i knew Snyder would deliver there, and no surprise Crow killed it.but what really caught my attention from the movie was this Blue eyed piece of heaven.I knew Germany was holding out on us,lol.

Well for me, Superman's real mama (Ayelet Zurer) got me to drop my pants :hilarious::hilarious:

From the movie (look how close they cast her to the comic):

I like this tagline much better than "You'll believe a man can..."

And it looks like MoS is going to destroy (yes all puns intended) BO records at the current pace. Zack is at his best and yes the WB executives and what not should have picked him in the first place!!!

Just saw it today. Absolutely incredible.

Don't read this if you haven't seen the movie.
Love the way they have reworked some of his back story. I usually get annoyed at things like that but it fitted in perfectly. I think Nolan did a great job in making it 'real' and grittier as he did with Batman. The fighting was as real as it can be (given the power super beings have).

Russell Crowe was also a badass in this which is always a bonus!

Also, I've just finished reading the prequel comic too. It'll be interesting if they use that as a base for the next film.

Just came from seeing movie.

I felt Superman's backstory and Lois/Clark 'romance' were rushed but the action and music made up for it. The fight scenes were out of this world and the end with Zod...awesome. This is how Superman should've been, not some soft version like in Superman Returns. Definitely worth seeing a second time.
