The disc will be the same as the new US Special Edition

Here's something that's made me very happy. From the PR company -

Hi Matt,

I hope you are well, please find attached the press release for Pain & Gain. I am pleased to confirm that the UK release will feature the same extras as the US special edition release.

Kind Regards

Kerry

Latest update from Zavvi
Still waiting on finalised artwork.

The finishes are overall matte varnish, except for a spot UV gloss on Mark and Dwayne on the front cover.

There’s a pantone red on their names on the front cover, and emboss on the title treatment.

Confirmed as 1000 units only and from the traffic and questions we are getting, think this will only last a couple of days at the most before selling out.

I just hope i can get dvd, digital copy etc with the release, for the money, UK tends to get painfully little.

Kudos to FS, most of their steelies, Cars 2, Nemo etc. came with digital copy etc.

As it is Paramount release you may get a digital copy but don't expect anything else, not even extras if they follow the US release.

I've never seen the draw of low print runs. The only reason it's an issue is if people are planing on reselling. Aside from that its just a number. Still terrific film and hope the artwork is nice and not lazy.

some collectors like the fact that they know they have a copy of something that only 999 other people have. Rarity and exclusiveness doesn't always necessarily mean people are going to re-sell, theres a lot of people out there including myself that like this type of exclusive draw (like blufans, and kimchi)

plus when you have an over saturated market, the numbering system serves as a positive

As a side note it's sad people are interested in this steel based on the edition size alone :(

I used to think something along those lines, but not anymore. Now I just realize that collectors like highly limited editions. I do too. I have a few really rare and expensive steelbooks that I will never sell, like Pinocchio. But I really like knowing that's it's rare and valuable and difficult to find in excellent condition, etc.

Great movie and great choice for a steel. 1k print run? Interesting, hope they don't jack up the price though.

alot like how jack reacher was 500 in uk .... then that line fiasco made them make 500 more ... so 1k in JR UK in the end.
