Will this get an HMV release? I assume it will. Just don't like using Zavvi, managed to avoid them for years now.
I'm sure it'll be HMV too, just not listed yet. I've preordered Zavvi and then I'll cancel and use HMV once listed.

Potentially 4k Criterion US release coming too. Unconfirmed.

Wonderful film.
I genuinely appreciate short concise recommendations. It is a blind buy for me and love going in, knowing next to nothing about a film. The art drew me in ngl. Although I do know Dean Stockwell is in it, which intrigues me, as I am a big Quantum Leap fan!

It's a classic most certainly. Very purposefully paced. It's got one of the most poetically dreamlike qualities I've ever experienced in a character driven film before.
I'd always recommend maybe glancing at a short spoiler free review before blind buying, especially with something that's so deliberately paced like Paris, Texas.

Id also recommend Wim Wenders new film Perfect Days. Koji Yakusho won the Best Actor at Cannes for his role.
Similar type of pacing. Wim Wenders certainly has a style all of his own.

I watched the short trailer I posted above. It was a mood and enough to convince me, especially as I like character driven films that take their time, which is what it felt like. I'll be sure to check Perfect Days out too then, thanks! I do own Wings of Desire but just haven't got round to watching it yet! So many 4ks and not enough spare time!

ain't that the truth!

I'll add that i generally regard 'Until the End of the World' as my favorite movie ever

I'd probably say Wings of Desire might be the least approachable out of Paris and Perfect.
It's still amazing.

Btw
Curzon love to have age logos printed to the slipcase and the J card information printed on the back. Slipcases are also thin and their spine titles are the "book" way up that's popular across Le Channel.
All around a bit weak.
I just bought their Memories of Murder 4K release and it's exactly like that, this looks highly unlikely to be any different.
If that puts any of you guys off.

An immediate pre-order for me. This one is £5 more expensive then Memories of Murder was, and I wonder, (and very much hope), if that means they will go with a ridgid slipcase this time, instead of that flimsy and disappointing one for Memories of Murder.

Easy instant order for me too. Have wanted a nice release of this for a while, liked the Criterion one not enough to pick it up but this looks nicer.

I'd say Wings of Desire is probably my favourite Wenders.
Million Dollar Hotel and The End of Violence for me, but his movies are all rather slow and 'atmospheric', so they can seem extremely boring, like Better Days, if you judge just by the setup - a Japanese janitor sits around thinking about stuff... I mean, c'mon, that's like watching paint dry. :D
