SithLord84's Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy

Hello and welcome to my Star Wars themed mancave. As you can see I am a huge fan of both Star Wars Trilogies. The statues you see here are from Sideshow Collectibles' Premium Format line. The collection itself is still very much a collection in progress, I couldn't tell you when I'll be finished but I do know that I am not done yet and I still have more statues on the way and I also have more posters/prints that will be added once they are framed.

The cabinets you see here are from Ikea, but all the parts are sold separately. The units themselves are called Besta, the doors are called Sindvik, and the interior lights are called Stotta.

In addition to the Star Wars collection the room features a Samsung 46" 3D LED TV, a Samsung HT-E5400 3D Home Theater System, as well as a Sony PS3 and a PS4.

Yeah that thing will be expensive and huge! You're talking seven 12 inch characters along with Darkseid who looks like he's 30 inches! Plus XM prices and shipping overseas, I don't even want to think about how expensive that will be.

I think my estimate of 5k was severely underestimated. That thing will be at least 10k after the US markup. The only thing that I could think of is maybe some of the pieces won't turn out that well or be desired as much as some of the others which might bring the total cost of the thing down if you buy all the pieces individually. I see people are already complaining that they are including Cyborg instead of Martian Manhunter.

How is your comic book reading going by the way?

Me? Reading?

Well I'm pretty sure the statue is based off of the new 52 Darkseid War storyline so it makes sense that it's Cyborg. It also means people might not be that interested.

So the Batman v. Superman digibook will be $25 at Target. Man these prices are terrible. I'm debating on just paying the extra $5 for the steelbook, but the cover isn't that cool.

You got all those pretty comics, you have to open them up and read them! :p

Its going to be from the New 52? That sucks. Now that thats over I would have thought DC would have put a stop to any more products based on it to focus on the current designs, or better yet the classic designs that everyone loves.

I guess after spending hundreds on each statue I'm just completely desensitized to realize when Blu rays and other common items are a little over priced. Everything else seems like a deal now!

I know, I'm so lame!

Well DC still hasn't went back to the classic designs yet. I really don't like that yellow around the bat logo in these new comics or Superman's blue boots.

So today is Wednseday, what did you get???? :p

This little snippet was posted in Sideshow's blog today:

And, when you stop by their booth during the con, you’ll come face-to-face with iconic characters, including
DC Comics – Several renditions of Batman: Adam West Batman, Armored Batman, and Batman (BvS), along with Catwoman (Pfeiffer and Newmar), Bane, Killer Croc, Huntress, Black Canary, and Cheetah

Looks like another Bat villain and another female character. Shocking.

I'm not crazy about the yellow around the bat symbol either. This might grow on me over time. I do like it more than the New 52 outfit though.

I'll hopefully have some pics up later tonight. Still no sign of UPS yet, they usually don't get here until between 5 and 8 at night.

There are so many more important and more iconic Batman villains than Bane and Croc that they haven't done yet. I'm actually kind of shocked they haven't done 5 different versions of Harley yet, instead of making anything else DC considering her popularity. I guess you should just be happy they are making Lex :p.

Yeah I have no interest in Killer Croc or Bane. I just can't believe all these characters are being made before Flash or Green Arrow...it's not like those are two popular shows on TV right now. I've finally come to accept that I'm going to have to sit through all of the following characters being made before they get to the ones I want:

Zatanna, Hawkgirl, Harley 2.0, Harley 3.0, Batgirl 2.0, Batwoman, Mera, Wonder Girl, Star Sapphire, Saturn Girl, Bleez, Talia al Ghul, Stargirl, Starfire, Liberty Belle, Raven, Mary Marvel, Riddler, Penguin, Red Hood, Robin, Robin 2.0, Nightwing, Two-Face, Scarecrow, Ra's al Ghul, Commissioner Gordon, Alfred Pennyworth, Lucius Fox, Mr. Freeze, Clayface, Bat-Mite, Killer Moth, Black Mask, Calendar Man, Hush, and probably five more Batmans. Did I miss anyone?

It seems to me that DC/WB isn't really proud of their TV stuff. They don't want any of it to cross over into the movies and limiting what characters can be in the shows. I really liked BvS but I didn't think it was that amazing for them to act like its the greatest thing ever, and treat the shows like they are so much lower class. I think their shows are being much better received than the movies they've put out so far. But thats my two cents on why they might not be putting much effort out into Green Arrow merchandise.

See, now that you can list all of those Batman characters, you can just come out and announce you've been a giant Batman fan all along! :D

I'm not collecting comic PFs anymore, but if they do a Zatanna I don't think I'll be passing on her.

Okay, I FINALLY have a tiny bit of an update for my collection. I haven't gotten a SW PF since last September!

C-3PO Premium Format has arrived.

This makes my 9th Star Wars Premium Format. I finally filled up every besta cube with an item that is the same scale from the same license.

That puts me halfway there with SW's dynamic duo. I've seen R2 already go for almost a hundred under retail on eBay, but thats still not enough for me. I'm having a real hard time spending anything over $250 for R2. If I have to I will, but for now I'm just going to hold out awhile and see if the prices continue to go down, and I'll pick it up at my leisure when I have funds.

I also finally picked up The Complete Clone Wars series on Blu-Ray:

This is the thing that I knew you personally really liked Lou :p. I can always watch it on Netflix but I wanted to actually own it on disc. My phone blew a couple of weeks ago and I got a new one that came with a $200 best buy gift card, and I didn't hesitate for a second on what to buy with it :D.

I'll update my main pics later with all of my PFs. I actually tore out all of my lights out of my bestas and sold them because I originally bought the battery ones which I thought would be fine. And Lou even told me the battery ones don't last that long but I guess I didn't listen and bought some anyways and that was a huge mistake. After I'd put fresh batteries in them I'd run them for maybe 2 hours a night, and by the third night they would die. I'll be adding wired lights in them shortly, I don't know which ones yet though.

Ha, I've read a lot of comics and I used to collect the Mattel DC line so I know a lot of characters I normally wouldn't know (like Killer Moth).

I guess it seems to me like there are a lot of fans of Arrow and Flash. Maybe that's because I follow Stephen Amell on facebook and it seems like he has a lot of fans. It also seemed like quite a few people wanted both Amell and Gustin to be in the movies...maybe I'm wrong though.

I didn't realize you were a big Zatanna fan.

YES!!! CONGRATS!!! That 3PO looks great, I really liked the original PF of the droids when I had them. You definitely need R2 to go with him, but I don't blame you for not wanting to pay that price for a plastic "statue".

That Clone War set is sweet too, I really like the cover with all the clones lined up on there. I've still never made it past a few episodes of that series. You win the Internet for best Star Wars haul this week. :)

Thanks man! :) The Clone Wars has some really great episodes, but not until after the show goes on for a bit. You've got to push yourself through the majority of the first couple of seasons until you start to get to the good stuff.

I will definitely 100% be getting R2. It just comes down when. I might ask for him for Christmas, if I can manage to hold out for that long lol.

Killer Moth is a rare one! I'd bet half of Batman fans wouldn't even know about him. There was an easter egg for him in the Arkham Origins game.

Amell seems like a really awesome dude. He really appreciates the fans, and he totally gets geek fandom. Gustin too. I read a lot of people trying to get them in the movies and Amell was pushing WB to use Gustin as Flash in the movies. People are really hating on the Ezra Miller casting. I honestly have no idea who that guy is anyways, so I'm not going to hate, unless I see it and he deserves it :p.

I don't know what it is, maybe the fishnets, but I think Zatanna is super hot. (even though she isn't real lol :emb:)

Yeah I've struggled through the first few episodes a couple of times then give up. There are a bunch of 90s sitcoms I need to get through at the moment (I'm watching 4 different series).

R2 does look really nice on display. It's just when you set him up, it's kind of disappointing holding that light plastic droid in your hand!

Amell definitely is good with the fans and he really puts a lot of effort into training for the show. It's kind of sad because there are a lot of people that just complain about the show on his page. Don't get me wrong, it's been kind of disappointing the last two seasons, but it's annoying when he posts unrelated things and people are still bashing the show in the comments.

I only know Ezra Miller from Perks of Being a Wallflower. I really liked that movie and he was good in it...but I can't see him being an action superhero. Should be interesting.

Ha, I had Killer Moth and Black Mask action figures. I only knew who they were from reading the packaging! Same with Gentleman Ghost and quite a few others. And I'm not judging you for being attracted to a fictional character at all. ;)

What shows are you watching?

I think once I get R2 and set him up I'm going to make it a priority not to pick him up again so I won't be reminded of the cheapness lol.

I wouldn't think Amell has that much to do with the story of the show anyways. These people are more than likely complaining to the wrong person.

Thats good, because I think that Black Canary PF is really good looking too, especially that booty :p. Speaking of booties, I've had my Tweeterhead Catwoman on display from the rear for a week now and I'm not ashamed of it :D.

I'm trying to make my way through Everybody Loves Raymond, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Spin City, and Wings. I'm just rotating one season at a time so I don't get burnt out trying to watch an entire series all the way through at once.

Yeah that Black Canary booty is a sight to behold! That's hilarious you've had your Catwoman backwards, ha. I actually had my Black Cat flipped around for a few weeks, but that was because I showed someone the booty shot then forgot I had turned her around.

I used to watch all of those shows. 3rd Rock and Wings were two of my favs from the 90s. Thats a great plan rotating, thats something I should have tried. I probably wouldn't have gotten burned out on The Walking Dead and Arrow that way.

I'm sure you "forgot". LOL. :p

I totally forgot, ha ha.

Yeah I love 90s sitcoms, Spin City and Wings used to be two of my favorites. I don't know that I ever did see how either ended. I'm hoping this rotating will work because the last time I tried watching Wings all the way through I gave up around season 3. There are only a few sitcoms that I can just keep watching and never get bored with (Seinfeld, The Office, Scrubs, Parks and Rec, Big Bang Theory).

I watched pretty much all of the Seinfeld episodes when they were originally on, and I've watched the reruns on TBS and other stations countless times over many years. I never get bored with it. I don't think another show will ever top that one for me. I can still relate to it to this day.

I completely agree, Seinfeld is my all time favorite! I still remember watching the series finale when it aired...can't believe that was 18 years ago! What would you say are your top ten favorite TV shows of all time?

Hmm.. Seinfeld is definitely number one. I also love Curb Your Enthusiasm which has the same kind of Seinfeld jokes, only dirtier because its on HBO :p. But I'd say my second all-time favorite show would probably be The X-Files. I also loved Cheers, Fraiser, Friends, 3rd Rock from the Sun, the Spider-Man, X-Men and Batman animated series. I'll be honest my mind can't even process TV show memmories right now because of all the awesome info coming out at SW Celebration :D.

Did you see when Ben Mendelsohn came out in full his full Director Krennic outfit?

I have actually never seen Curb Your Enthusiasm. I have a feeling I'd like it because of Larry David.

That is awesome he came out in costume! I loved when Tom Hiddleston did that at comic con! Fans love that stuff so it's nice to see them doing that. I've noticed a lot of times when shows get really popular that the cast stops showing up at SDCC which I think is completely lame, it's like they forget who made them big in the first place. The entire Big Bang Theory cast used to go now the last couple years they just send the writers. Even the Game of Thrones cast that's appearing this year is pretty weak.

What's funny is the first thing I noticed in that picture was Alan Tudyk standing behind him. I didn't realize he was in the movie so I had to look it up and he's the voice actor for K-2SO. I should have known, he does a lot of voice acting. I'm a big fan of his from Firefly.

What do you think of those troopers? I'm going to need to see some more of them, but right now I'm kind of indifferent. Are we going to get a new trooper design for every single movie so they can make more toys?

You will love Curb! Its got the same kinds of themes as Seinfeld. Its so obvious after you see an episode of Curb just how much of an influence Larry really had on making Seinfeld. I really think it was even more him than Jerry.

I hate when actors think they are too cool for the fans. Its good to see that there are still out there that appreciate them all.

I know Alan Tudyk's face, but I don't remember what I know him from. When he came out I was like "oh, that guy" lol. I don't even want to mention how I still haven't seen Firefly :(

The troopers are okay. They sure aren't my favorites, but they might grow on me. They seem really big.
