Easy pass! Mark Kermode is THE biggest leftie BELL! his views on anything especially films are worthless, the fact they included this = massive OUT!
I'm watching tons of German and English speaking YouTube film critics and Kermode really is the one I agree with the most. He is not afraid to call out corporate nonsense bs movies like Indy 5 and Avatar 2 and gives an honest opinion and brings receipts, whereas many (mostly American) critics don't want to burn their Hollywood establishment bridges and go with non-threatening critiques like "the movie was fun" or "James Cameron creates a visual feast" :naughty:

Either way, an added book on a film would never be a reason for me not to buy a deluxde edition, unless it's like a Trump book that accompanies Home Alone 2....

I currently look like my avatar (no pun intended) after reading this comment

I'm fairly indifferent towards Kermode, but the BFI movie critical analysis books are consistently excellent.
Kermode's views on The Exorcist are bang on the money too, as are his opinions on Silent Running, for that matter. :thanks:

Although I’m not big on the guy, I will still read the book. Heard a lot of good things about it tbh

Funny thing about Mark Kermode, I remember watching an interview with him and William Friedkin where Friedkin basically Slated him for over analysing his movies lol, even though Mark was gushing with praise. Most movie critics are guilty of this at various times to be fair..

Hi all, I'm part of the team working on this release.

The outer box features a high-quality leather-grain finish with gold foiling for the text, similar to A24's recent Green Knight Collector's Edition. It gives the box a premium "book" like feel, perfect for The Exorcist!
- The Green Knight: Collector's Edition

The clamshell has a gloss finish with gold spot glossed text and images. The steelbook, premiums and BFI Film Classics book are all housed in the clamshell with an amazing cut-out 'revealing' Mark Kermode's book.

It is exclusive to Amazon UK on a 2,000 limited run.

Looking forward to seeing what people think!
Could you PLEASE get them pack it in a protective outer cardboard box? Something, anything that will prevent Amazon's poor shipping packages from crushing all the corners?

If it'll only be shrinkwrapped, it's pretty much guaranteed to suffer blemishes.

It's a serious collector's item, would hate to receive it imperfect.

Thanks!

I second this really needs to put in a cardboard box with protection to avoid any disappointment.

...also because, if it gets damaged (as it's designed to attract bumps), and it's already sold out months ago, how could they ever arrange enough replacements?

As much as I'm excited about this particular release (leaves no need for a premium, at least for myself), I'm equally concerned.

Kinda crazy what we're getting here compared to those across the pond. Even the standard US amaray release has a terrible cover and seemingly little in the way of on disc extras. No wonder these sold out pretty quick!

BD forum USA members not happy about the USA release been UHD + Digital only (2 UHD Discs)
That was expected as Warner USA 4K UHD releases most been 4K + Digital only a good while now

Thread for the USA 50th Anniversary standard amaray release with slipcover
USA specs list Dolby Atmos in regards to the UHD discs so I expect UK will have the same

Note it's only the UHD discs that has the new 4K remaster of the Theatrical and Director's Cuts and Digital releases that have the 4K remaster
The Blu-ray's in UK and EU release are the previous existing discs and is why those Blu-ray discs have the same extras as before

Literally just this second see it and I’m blown away at how poor that is

Makes a change tho. Look at all the Walmart/ best buy steels we don’t get. But yeah that is f**king shocking and I’m glad at what we are getting so much more now
