I have come very late to steelbook collecting from my extensive blu ray and DVD haul. This steelbook, along with the Goonies, was one of the main reasons for the switch.

Every film discussed in these forums means something different to each person and to me this film is awesome. Not the best design I've seen but still love it!

Now just waiting for the neverending story...

what are zavvi playing at, really? been out of stock for months and now it re-appears?

i always thought it was a strange title to go OOP. obvious zavvi deliberately took it off the shelf to bring it back later

If they were going to do this, don't you think they would have done it before they dropped the price to £4.99?

maybe they pulled it off the shelf when it wouldnt even sell at 4.99.

funny how it would turn up just in time for their bank holiday weekend sell.

its clear they were simply holding stock back

Why would they pull it though?
To build up demand by making it OOP?

I've done my fair bit of Zavvi bashing in the past but that just seems a little too 'tinfoil hat' to me.

yeh of course, to create demand.

if you have a collectable that generates no sales even at a giveaway price, pulling it off the shelves for a few months will start to create some demand.

then out of nowhere it returns and people wanting something 'rare' will jump at the opportunity to buy this product simply because they know it went 'OOP' before.

or are we suppose to believe zavvi found another box of these laying around just in time for their bank holiday sales promotion.

come on, some of us werent born yesterday, and its not the first time its happened. its predictable now

Would love some straight info from Zavvi about these things. It happens now and then, in and out of stock. If anyone else remembers Tron, boy that one was annoying also.

Where is the demand? Judging by the activity in this thread, no one else cares that this is back in stock.

Wreck said that Zavvi asked a few studios if they had any excess stock. That's why a lot of Lionsgate and StudioCanal titles are available again. There are also a few HMV exclusives, I'm pretty sure Zavvi couldn't have purposely held stock back of those.

snooloui: Ok, missed that info. The thing is that I think a lot of people also missed that and its easy to connect the dots and then you question what they are doing. They should have some better info on their site imo on things like this to battle disinformation.

This is back in stock at Zavvi HERE along with Warrior, Reservoir Dogs, Olympus Has Fallen etc and are £9.99 each (see price drop thread)

What's the finish on this one like?
