That's not true at all. Go back and read this thread. There was nothing but love the characters of legacy.

The only criticism anyone had on here (and this started 5 years ago when it was announced) was Disney not continuing the story and going with Leto instead.
I'm talking about general-internet, not this thread. Internet People have been very dismissive of the Legacy characters, until they didn't return in Ares.

People in general are never happy.
It's become weirdly selective—like, people decide they're going to pile on a movie they don't even have any interest in. Comments like, "There's no way I'm seeing this, and I also hate it. One star." I don't understand why Tron gets that treatment, especially when most of the people I know in real life who have seen Ares liked it.

I would say the general internet who saw the movie was largely indifference with a cult following of people who really enjoyed it, similarly to John Carter. Legacy was a fun movie, granted with a simple plot, with a banging soundtrack, great visuals (aside from the de-aging), and an interesting concept that could be carried into a sequel.

The TRON Ares hate (from people who haven't seen it) seems to be just Jared Leto haters - which I think stems from being an okayish Joker, taking on that role after Heath Ledger?

I don't have any hate towards any actor in particular, so I don't get it (some are bad for sure, like Kevin Hart, but I'll just skip their movies instead of just hating on his new projects)

TRON Ares was pretty good imo, a good watch especially in IMAX :)

I'm personally always separating the art from the artist. But the Leto hate from people doesn't come out of nowhere and it's definitely not because of his Joker role. The guy is a literal wanna-be cult leader with a messiah complex and also an alleged pedo. I love the early 30STM stuff and his earlier roles but the guy is just a straight-up creep. This doesn't keep me from enjoying his old music or watching movies he's in that i'm interested in. But the Leto hate didn't just randomly appear or is unjustified.

I think this guy did a pretty good job highlighting Leto's weird wanna-be cult:

Yup! This Philion guy is a straight-up authority on Leto. I mean he’s done 530 videos in like 2 years. And not ALL of it is click-bait even. He’s got to be trustworthy, right? Thank goodness I saw that and didn’t bother with Tron: Ares.

What was I thinking!

P.S. If you take this post seriously, you’ve missed the point.

Jared is that you? Can you sign my vinyl copy of This Is War?

Very fun, fast–paced, exciting film, with lots of action and great music. Not as good as Tron 2.0, but still better than 99% of movies, because no one seems to understand the importance of music.
There's set up for at least another sequel, too bad this one seems to have failed financially, and we probably won't see it.
Actually, every Tron has failed to a degree, and 'they' make another sequel eventually, we just can't wait another 15-28 years for another, because the next one should involve Olivia Wilde, and other cast from all three films, and they're all getting too old.

Olivia Wilde a little older, and ready for Tron: The End...

F**k it, I'd be in for a Tron 4.0... worth the wait.
