I've often question a lot of Best Buy's decisions over the years, but this one tops my list of their WTF decisions!

@vläd I think this is the type of thing we are going to be seeing a lot in the future. Consolidations and mergers. Less and less people go to box stores to get what they want. People are now ordering online.

Nope.
As we already had Best Buy here in Canada, 50% of FS store will transform into Best Buy while the other 50% are closing completely.

I sent a message to the contact email provided on the FS website to Bust Buy & asked about what is going to happen to all of the Future Shop exclusives. Especially the Steelbook movies & video game case Steelbooks that are only available at FS & took them 2 days to get back to me & all I got was a generic email & didn't answer any of my questions, here is the response that I received this morning.

So, made my first return to Best Buy for Rambo Mondo Future Shop Exclusive that were defects (16x).
As planned, the sku was not in their system, but the CS rep was really good and clever as he found a solution to do the return that was satisfying for me.

It was sad to see many clients at Best Buy CS desk with Future Shop invoice, so you can see that the situation/change/transition has left us all in the dark.
And speaking with the great BB CS rep, seems like it's the same for them, the employees, who have to be innovative to find everyone a good solution.

There is no Best Buys in my province, only 3 Future Shop's. This could be devastating to me.

This must be April fools come early, right?

Okay here is some news!! According to Best Buy's website on their store locator if you see Future Shop operated by Best Buy it tells you they are reopening this Saturday: "This location has temporarily closed and is scheduled to reopen April 4th: Therefore I expect Future Shop's inventory including their steelbooks to be available then! Obviously they have Interstellar which was supposed to be in store Tuesday March 31st.
All the ones coming that were Future Shop releases will appear later as obviously deals were made to manufacture them. Just a slight delay for Interstellar guess that is okay. Of course I could be wrong just speculating on the steelbooks, but I think I am right.

Grom Globalnews.ca so the list could be with mistakes.

Your BEST bet (to avoid rumors) is to look at BestBuy.ca and search the STORE LOCATOR. If your old (now new) store is listed as "operated by Best Buy", that means that it's an old Future Shop converting to Best Buy.

Not really, because Best Buy CA wasn't shipping to the US anyways, so nothing has really changed.
