For those wondering about FS exclusive steelbooks going to BB, this may be of help. Although it is not definitive, it's encouraging.

I wanted to buy an exclusive product from Future Shop that you don’t carry at Best Buy. How do I buy it now?

  • Please visit any Best Buy and one of our Product Specialists will do their best to find a comparable item. We should be able to find a solution for you that will meet your needs.
  • Our online assortment continues to grow. There is a good chance that the specific item you were looking for will be available on BestBuy.ca in the near future.
Most pop art Steelbooks should show up at 7-11. Worst Steelbooks ever made....

I just got off the phone from BB customer service about this exact issue and I was basically told (if you used the free shipping) the tracking number they provide is bogus and they don't actually track through Canada post and if it hasn't arrived by Wednesday to call again when it's considered officially lost.

I had this a couple of times, the tracking number they give has no basis in reality ;-) It usually meant that they had sent it through regular Canada Post without any tracking at all..

This sucks for so many reasons.

Future Shop was MY place in Thunder Bay to visit. I loved it there. Worked there for over four years and that's where I met my wife.

My brother-in-law worked there and my sister just texted me to tell me that he's been let go with four months pay... and they have a small child, so she's stressed beyond belief.

Future Shop had all the best releases in Canada and it was always clean (my store, anyway). Best Buy in Canada, whenever I go into it, is ALWAYS a filthy mess... unorganized beyond all belief.

This is heartbreaking for so many reasons. What a ****** way to treat your employees and customers. I hope you're doing okay, @zerox39.

Canada's sinking, people. Our dollar is garbage and we just had Target, Sony Store and Future Shop closed down. Thousands upon thousands of Canadians are unemployed now and this is just awful.

Welcome to the party, the UK has lost all but one high street dvd/bluray/cd store with all the rest biting the dust over the last 10 to 15 years. Sucks for collectors but sucks even more for people with families to feed. Having been in a Best Buy I really do feel for Canadians as that store is just garbage.

If they don't switch their exclusive Steelbooks to BestBuy available online, I will simply just drop all those releases unfortunately...I am not gonna go into a best Buy to buy an exclusive steelbooks Blu-ray section always a mess and the covers are always scratched imagine the steel in store, even if there would be 50 copies they would all be like year old releases...try finding a Mint copy there tssssss

I was so looking forward to Chappie exclusive FS and Insurgent Exclusive FS Steels...

Well this sucks to say the least and a total shock/surprise.

There is no Best Buys in my province, only 3 Future Shop's. This could be devastating to me. :(

This must be April fools come early, right?

The only Futureshop close to me closed about 2 years ago in Newmarket (owner didnt want to renew the lease) but I had a Bestbuy in Newmarket as well as Aurora so all 3 were within 5-10 mins from each other. I'm just glad all my orders will still be deliveried. Sucks about all those people loosing there jobs. Seems like a trend in Canada lately

This is sad news especially for all those people that are loosing there jobs. Futureshop had some great Steelbooks and they will be missed. Hopefully the Mondo line will also continue.

Yup ! And they already making the change...

Yea I didn't even bother going by the store, but I called 3 of my local stores. 2 of them said "will be permanently closed" while the last one said "will be temporarily closed"

I hope so, it would be the only way I would continue to buy them... I really hope so...
I actually hope they don't sell it through online. We already know half of the steels already have spine slashes from FS. Now moving from FS to BB? Imagine the damage that might incur. I don't wanna order online, only to receive one with dings and scratches. And how many times are you willing to return/refund/buy again? Because if its damaged, they wont do exchanges. So I would rather pick and choose :dunno:

I always thought it was pointless to have both a Best Buy and Future Shop 2 mins away from each other in South Edmonton Common.
I thought it was like that everywhere around Canada, because all the FS I visited had a BB in the same mall or at least within 5-10 mins of each other. There are about 5 FSs in Toronto and another 4-5 BBs, and I'm not even including the GTA.

Don't forget that Best Buy bought half of the Future Shop stores saving many jobs.
