ok, this may sound stupid, but wouldn't it have been a good idea to put Death Proof's artwork upside down on the rear and the title upside down on the spine?

That way if people prefer the Death Proof movie, you can flip it over and it would make Death Proof the front side of the steel... I don't know, seemed obvious to me

Well I'm 99% gonna get it, but it's not quite my dream Grindhouse release. No separate releases, no extended versions, plus I think the German had better art if it had English text.

Missed out on the German release and I've never found one cheap enough on ebay, so it's a definite yes from me. The only Tarantino film missing from my steely collection

Shame, I much prefer the extended versions and I only have them on dvd. Already own the double feature on blu ray

not worth double dipping-will stick with my japanese extended boxset considering
a; there not QT & RR's best films and B: i am soon to be sans job

It's likely to be the same two disc set that's in the UK amaray. Dunno why they would reprint the discs with different art, mind...

If you look closely at the discs in the picture it shows disc 1 as having both films and disc 2 has special features.

Nope. Extended cuts got sold separately. Grindhouse has the original cuts.

I think I'll pre order and see what's it's like once in hand has I already own the German steelbook but with both UK extended films.

As Rose McGowan is on the cover for Planet Terror I would have loved the Stuntman Mike pic from the inside to be the back art for Death Proof.

Overall though I do like it!

Yeah, and even the regular cut is a bit bloated for me at times.

Extended doesn't always mean better. I just watched the extended version of Copland and I preferred the original cut to it.

It's not necessarily for you in particular, Butz2k, but it's become an habit to read this question in most Zavvi threads and the reply (when someone bothers to do so) is always the same - and it never is "oh, right, I forgot to tell you all, pre-order is live on..." .
