The back doesn't bother me as much as it does some in here, but the part that bothers me most is the smudge that goes into his shoulder pad. Why? That alone is what makes it look cheap. The effect on the background images is fine to me, but once it interferes with the front image it makes no sense. The vehicle in the background is literally affecting the foreground, and only in that one spot (from what I notice).

It's clearly an error. 5 random uses of the wrong tool. I'm sure it will be corrected.
 
Mad Max : Fury Photoshop

I can see the point of using the blur / smudge tool etc to create something that looks "good", e.g. motion blur or trying to blend the edges of the picture to create a field of view effect. But randomly adding smudges looks like you just forgot to CTRL+ALT+Z in Photoshop to step remove those steps

Hopefully the finished product will look better...hopefully. Nice art choice though despite the blur / smudges
