I think the gloss finish and debossing will make this one the best for now. The streaky matte finish ruined the other WWA steelbooks that were previously released - at least in my opinion.I can't believe I am saying this, but the WWA looks better judging by the steel art itself (without the slip packaging).
Sadly a pass for me as I didn't like the movie.....Universal are on a roll! Looks/sounds really nice... makes me wish I actually liked the movie lol.
Just bought the sh1tty original Nope steelbook, so yeah, probably a new superior one on the way soon....Loving these Universal editions. Hope they'll do Nope or The Invisible Man next, both of which have had pretty underwhelming steelbooks so far.
The original steels were zero varnish at the insistence of the manufacturer. Having seen the metal running sheets for this new gloss version & the way we set up the white hit, they look really strong (in my opinion)I think the gloss finish and debossing will make this one the best for now. Sounds great. Do you have any information on the finish of the upcoming shaun of the dead 20th anniversary steelbook, please? The original steels were zero varnish at the insistence of the manufacturer. Even though artwork and finishes are always subjective, I think people will really see a difference despite the fact we're on a very similar colour palette.
Shaun is also gloss, no emboss work - artwork selected specifically by filmmaker as one of his favourites.Sounds great. Do you have any information on the finish of the upcoming shaun of the dead 20th anniversary steelbook, please?
F**king great newsShaun is also gloss, no emboss work - artwork selected specifically by filmmaker as one of his favourites.
excellent, thank you. I know this is specifically an anniversary release, but are there plans to release hot fuzz and world's end in the same style? as the artist did matching pieces for all 3 films.Shaun is also gloss, no emboss work - artwork selected specifically by filmmaker as one of his favourites.
The little cornetto on the spine gives me hope. I’d love all 3 with these posters personallyexcellent, thank you. I know this is specifically an anniversary release, but are there plans to release hot fuzz and world's end in the same style? as the artist did matching pieces for all 3 films.
Forgot Scanavo try to force studios to opt for zero varnish/matte. Screw what the people actually buying them wantThe original steels were zero varnish at the insistence of the manufacturer.
What's the worldwide print run? I just want to feel like we're in the early 2000s, if you say "10,000".Worth mentioning that the white hit on this Oppenheimer steelbook is also a lot lower saturation than the original two, so as well as being brighter with the varnish, there's also more of a metallic shine coming through.
It's still subtle but I think people will be happy when they get these in hand in November - I'm looking forward to seeing the response.

Sounds like it unfortunatelyHopefully metallic shine doesn't mean bare metal like so many orange steels suffer with
No, def not bare metal - just more life to it than the previous steels that were nearly 100% white hit base coatSounds like it unfortunately
But white hit base coat makes the colours thicker and pop more. No one wants metallic sheen under gloss. Looks cheapNo, def not bare metal - just more life to it than the previous steels that were nearly 100% white hit base coat
