Hello HDN!

It's was an exciting year in 2013, with classic and new titles receiving the Steelbook™ treatment. As in years past, I have tallied all of your suggestions from the nomination threads and it's time for you all to vote for your favorites from our 25 most nominated contenders. Past winners include Thor and The Raid. 2013 Winner: Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Please remember that you can only vote 1 time, but you can vote for multiple titles when you vote.

Here's a video I made for this year as a 'ninja recap' of the 25 most nominated Steelbooks. Turn the sound up/use headphones, if you wish to see it with music.

You can see the video here on HDN's Official Youtube Channel, along with many other individual Steelbook videos created by our very own Snollygoster (Productions). After you check it out the recap, just come back to the forum and cast your votes.

Voting starts right here in our poll, today and ends 1/31. Have fun everyone!

I voted for Face/Off. My favourite movie, so it's great to have such a quality steelbook for it.

I also love ZDT, Kick Ass 2, Taxi Driver and Django. I like many others, but these are my favourites and I own all of them except ZDT as I have the rather nice Dutch version.

3rd Annual HDN Steelbook™ of the Year Vote-courtesy of HDN's Official Youtube...

Hey guys-fyi the list you are voting one is a result of manually counting every mention of a title in the nomination threads-so these are literally the most nominated by members.

Totaly and utterly aprichiate the time that went in to reading and counting the votes. I did not totaly grasp that that was what the tread was for.

Weather it was Christmas hassle or the fact sometimes I need a sledgehammer coming out at me with a message printed on the end that will impact. I relised on the second or first page of this.

So in the end my stupid fault that two of my top 5 are not in. Like I put the time the tallying up must have taken you need a pat on the back and a HUGE THANK YOU.

The video was put together nicely, highlighted the best features of the steels and the bling, but forgot to include Lawrence of Arabia.

Voted :)

But 'wow', were these really the best of 2013??...very surprised by some that have made the list (though I understand how it was put together) and some that haven't and even more surprised to see what's winning (and comfortably too!) - IMHO think it'll be a big shame if that follows The Raid and Thor as a winner.

A few thoughts...too late now I know...

1) Shouldn't have multiple voting - the winner could actually be everyone's third favourite!... EEK!
2) Shouldn't be able to see the poll until AFTER you've voted - people like to know they're going to pick a winner :naughty:
3) No mention should be made of the vote/poll standings here as again it sways people's voting ;)

Still appreciate the effort made into setting this all up and to those who haven't voted yet - come on and make this right!!

Excellent point. The number one steelbook of the year should not be a crap ton of people's 3rd or 4th favorite one but it could easily happen. EEK!

Hey guys, thanks for sharing your suggestions. FYI-there are certain parameters within the poll itself that cannot be changed. Sorry there is no way to have you only pick x, and if some people picked 5, and others picked 7, someone would have to constantly edit the poll-sorry, there's just no time for that. I can tell you that the voting is following the nominations pretty closely at the moment. With as many Steelbooks that were released, 99% of people nominated more than 1, and to give you the maximum choice of the 'best of the best', you are allowed to vote for more than 1. If you have not voted yet, please feel free to jump in and make sure you vote for your favorites-remember this is supposed to be fun-and as with any awards, not everyone will ever agree on the 'winner'. Enjoy, everyone!

My vote is in this order
1)Who Framed Rogger Rabbit
2)Forbidden Planet
3)Taxi Driver
4)Lawrence of Arabia (HDZeta Exclusive)
5)Aladdin
6)Finding Nemo
7)Kick Ass 2

The rest I voted also for that I liked

I don't own Lawrence of Arabia (HDZeta Exclusive) wish I did and I wish a worldwide release at some stage
I'm very surprised Lawrence of Arabia was not released worldwide

Taxi Driver Steelbook is fantastic and I was shocked it took so long to sell out

It only one vote was allowed it would have been a difficult choice to make as most were fantastic releases
