artwork is fine, but the cropping is AWFUL look at the original version.

seriously what a sloppy job on that, half abu is cut off, genie and the cave suffer from the bad crop too. if it's just dodgy mock up, fine. but if not it needs sorting...Wreck is there any chance ou can get zavvi to crop the image properly before this is made...assuming this is the actual art.

The artwork isn't cropped though. The artwork extends around the edges of the front cover which accounts for less of the image being visible from the front.

Really?!

Dear God

I was definitely hoping for something more along the lines of the old Collector's Edition DVD, with the Cave of Wonders and them flying away into the moon on the carpet. Also strange that it says "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" since Disney hasn't used that in at least a few years and instead it's been simply "Disney". But, still very happy to see this get a steelbook, I hope it's the first of many more for Zavvi.

i know what you're saying and i'm aware the artwork for front and back art always extends around the edges of steelbooks. but personally i do NOT consider the print on the edges to be part of the front cover...doubt i'm the only one. in essence the print that wraps around has been cropped (on all steelbooks) , as the centre of the image has been chosen as the cover.

however you wana say it., the fact remains the cover is badly positioned as when you look flat at the cover, the genie's ponytail is gone, part of the cave has gone, part of abu is missing.

i know you'll say, 'they cant do anything about it.' but they could easily extend the image to create an area that will be printed around the edges, and will blend in with the cover. here:

a 5 min job on photoshop, obviously they could do it perfectly, but like this, the edges will have print matching/blending with the cover, but you dont loose any of abu, the cave or genie.

it's because the image they're using is literally the cover they made for the dvd release back in the early 2000's when all disney dvds said "Walt Disney Pictures Presents"

Yeah I know, but when they've reused old DVD artwork in other cases, they've changed the "WDPP" to just "Disney" - for example, the standard UK Peter Pan Blu-ray reuses the Platinum Edition cover, but they've changed it to "Disney".

Also, I very much agree with you about the crop job. It does still say "artwork subject to change"... does that realistically mean anything? Or is that usually there at this point. I notice it isn't still there for Finding Nemo, for instance.

I was expecting different artwork but you who cares. Its Aladdin bluray steelbook. Now Zavvi bring us Little Mermaid
