We watched the movie and loved it which means we are making the exclusive steelbook for the Alien Covenant! Steelbook has been approved. We are aiming for the Late September release and hope that the rest of process goes smoothly.

Does this come with the 4K UHD disc? HMV UK Steelbook is $26 with 4K + 2D. This is going to cost us around $52-53 shipped and I am hoping it will come with the 4K UHD disc as well.

The only manta exclusive steelbook they had so far with 4K UHD disc was Suicide Squad (Warner) and that was $48.99 and has listed in the production description 2 Discs with both 1080p Blu-ray and UHD Specs details

Alien: Covenant is $41.99 and only list 1 Disc 1080p Blu-ray

X-Men: Apocalypse 2D and 3D (2 Discs) was $46.99 also a fox release


So it's no way a 4K UHD release for Alien Covenant steelbook with manta going by the price alone $41.99

I'm cool with that. I don't need 4K discs anyway and hate having to pay more for a disc I don't need

regarding inclusion of 4K disc, it's not their decisions, they said they always want to go with multiple formats of the discs but studios won't allow it, as in this case, they confirmed NO inclusion of 4K disc for Alien: Covenant...

Nope no 4K disc

Personally I'm skipping this release, I'll pick up the 4K HMV steel and if I like the film maybe a premium release down the road

Like I said before though this does look a great release

I might be wrong but I don't think you can holofoil a lenti. As manta like to try new things they could be the first lol

I think the back will just be holofoil but don't quote me on that

Just a guess. I've never seen a holofoil lenti but there might be some out there

IMO when you have a lenti on the front anyway I don't mind about the back matching as the material is so different for both but when it's a wrap around art like this it might take it away from the image more but I think it's the lenti that does that and not the finish (IMO)
