there not releasing an avengers steelbook there releasing an avengers assemble steelbook that's why they asked you to clarify. :cap::ironman::hulk:
I know that. But when someone asked about Avengers LENTICULAR version, they should know immediately which "avengers" the customer is talking about since they work for Zavii - one of the biggest online steelbooks retailer. To be honest and no offense please, who cares about the Avengers TV show?

sent an email to zavvi yesturday asking what kind of lenticular the steelbook will have, you wont believe the reply i got,

Thank you for getting in touch about the Avengers Steelbook.

I have investigated this further and we are not releasing a lenticular version of the Avengers steelbook.

However, just to clarify, are you referring to the Marvel Avengers Assemble or the John Steed and Emma Peel Avengers TV series?

I apologise for any confusion.

If there is anything else that we can do, then please do not hesitate to get in touch and a member of our team will be happy to help.

Kind regards,

Dorian
:giggle::LOL::rofl:
Now you know why in the UK its called Marvel Avengers Assemble

The Avengers in the UK is a UK TV series from 1960's and also the New Avengers from the 70's and both titles has copyright and is why Marvel cant title their Avengers films The Avengers in the UK also there was a Film of the TV Series in 1998 called The Avengers

The copyright of the Title The Avengers applies to the UK to the TV series and any use of The Avengers is not allowed unless its to do with the characters from the TV Series in the UK

The copyright does not apply outside of the UK so that's why in USA and other countries Marvel films can be called The Avengers

Zavvi response is funny but you did mention it as The Avengers and that's why they asked you just to clarify, are you referring to the Marvel Avengers Assemble or the John Steed and Emma Peel Avengers TV series

You cannot be serious? One of the UKs most iconic programmes from the 60s and 70s had (and still has) a massive fan base over here, something I completely get if you're from the U.S. and have never heard of. It ranked alongside The Saint (Roger Moore) in popularity, and sold a fortune of products marketed from its title.

I agree with you about The Avengers TV show being an icon in the UK. It was one of my favorite TV shows growing up. The movie version, however, ruined it.

buddy please take a moment and stop being so serious and read it, that person has looked into it and says
they are not doing an avengers steelbook, im from the uk and i dont care what the second name is called,
if you work for zavvi and look into it further and cant locate the avengers steelbook that is already up on the sight,
then this staff and company have got issues, no excuses..

That is amazing! I don't know if I love them or hate them more after that comment.
Why would they even bring up the TV show lol.
The best bit is the "just to clarify" do you mean the massive super hero film that we are re releasing and everyone in the office who collects steelbooks can't shut up about it and we have on our site ready to go live on Saturday including the Lenticular OR the British spy TV show from the 70's that is on dvd that no one has asked about since we became a company?
Just convinces me more that they are a bunch of useless robots.
All because you never added assemble lol use your initiative Dorian!
You will probably get a reply next saying it's out of stock, sold out and won't be coming back (if you messaged them back that is)

Most off the customer service staff would not be steelbook collectors like we are
He or She would have just entered into the system The Avengers and that's what comes up is the TV series on the website
If you had of asked about Marvels Avengers Assemble the staff would have seen more to what your enquiry was about and reason why they asked you are you referring to the Marvel Avengers Assemble or the John Steed and Emma Peel Avengers TV series?

You like the rest of by now should know Zavvi customers service staff not as informed as we collectors are
We know more than they do about what releases they have coming out than they do

Its only the Zavvi buyers that know what a release has in terms of finish and overall content and very often that information is not known to general Zavvi staff until the actual releases is already out and in stock and even then they often don't know much
Its the film studio who know about a release as its them who get it made all they do is let Zavvi have it as an exclusive and they don't always provide the full details to Zavvi

We all in most cases only find out what a steelbook looks like when we as collectors get actual delivery and then let members know about it with Photos etc by posting the info on this website
On rare occasions we see in advance as actual photos and details of a release when its provided to HDN Staff but that is very rare when that happens

The Avengers TV Series by the way is very popular in the UK its even coming out on Blu ray from Studiocanal on the 23 February 2015

Well that's just sad isn't it. Like come on... It's ONLY one of the top 5 highest grossing films in decades.... You really don't expect staff of a company selling movies to know a little more about the stuff they're selling? No online store I ever contacted has staff this poorly informed. Simply ignoring our e-mails would be better than letting these clowns respond in behalf of your company!

I don't work for Zavvi I'm a collector like the rest of you but know a lot from previous work in the business as a buyer

Well they should no all information about the steelbooks they are selling and be kept in the loop (by their steelbook dept) about all on going info and release schedules and finishes etc that the steelbook dept know.
Dorian, Chris, harry and the rest of CS AND whoever else we get messages back from probably deal with more queries regarding steelbooks than any other product on their website. I'm not saying they don't deal with other item queries but I imgaine this lot on here including myself and all the other steel collectors are in conversation with them on at least a weekly basis about problems with their recieved items or product information. They should have daily or weekly email or printed information at their desks ready for when we have a question and when the actual steelbook dept have changes and updates they update the CS as soon as possible.
If they don't know then they can say sorry we don't have the Info from our suppliers. One of the guys should use their initiative and put that forward to their manager (if that's not the case already which I imagine isn't) thats the kind of stuff that might get them a bit of a bonus too. At least we as the customer will notice a change in actually trying to help us out instead of saying "after further investigations" which makes them seem even more stupid that I originally imagined.
I've worked for big banks, businesses and HMV and any updates are always circulated so you are in the know plus I used to be a team leader in a bank and made sure that I updated my staff because they was dealing with angry customers daily and makes it that little bit easier being in the know.
I know people get annoyed with HMV and not knowing stuff but I guarantee you 9 times out 10 if they went to their staff room or wherever they keep the updates which will be on a wall. I know it was for me when I worked there. But half the staff don't look at them so they miss out on the info. Rant over

I agree with you but as I don't work for Zavvi I cant change things I nearly ended up working for them when they were Virgin as they tried to poach me from their main rivals back then who I worked for

Staff knowledge and training is what make a retail shop be better than another especially if the staff are all specialists in their area of knowledge and know what their doing
But likes of Zavvi don't hire Staff like that and was one of the reasons why I did not join them
I like to be with staff who love what they do and know what their doing

Intresting to know. Cheers

Sums them up then really

By the way I wasn't having ago at you with the "they should know" thing. It was in General. What my idea would be if I did work for them. Problem with forums and txts, you sometimes can't see how the recipient is coming across.

Yeah, there's no excuse.

What would they do if you enquired about say a Hercules movie (or Tarzan, must be tons of versions of these over the years) or one of the countless titles that's had a remake/rebooot (Evil Dead, Friday the 13th, True Grit etc.....)??

Do they just look at the first thing that pops up on the screen? Nobody should be that inept at their job. It's easy to play the ignorant card. Terrible CS.

Im having an issue where I need to rest my password everytime I log in - emailed them the other day and they came back with we dont know why so we cant help you, you could try changing your browser or just make another account.

So the solution is ive to create multiple email accounts and new zavvi accounts lol! ? Its their websites technical issue lol - needless to say ive sent them a lengthy response for them to SOLVE THEIR websites log in glitch. Interested to see what they comeback with. Customer service is not their strong point.

Anyway cant wait to order avengers (marvel avengers that is) lol

So you used to work for Our Price, yeah?! :p

Were you responsible for any exclusive steels back in your buying days (if you don't mind me asking)?
At one stage yes I worked for Our Price :rofl: they were a joke and I told them they were as they did not take the business as serious as I did
I had best sales from one store for Video against all of the other Our Price shops combined

Tower Records then poached me from Our Price
Tower Records were the best for staff who knew what they were doing especially in specialist areas and loved what they were doing well most of them

Virgin tried to get me from Tower Records as I took lot of their Film Video/DVD and Soundtrack/Vocals Customers from them and they wanted me to get these customers back with them

I then went to run a second hand Music/Video Store and then into Security business

I was involved in exclusives with DVD and Film Soundtracks and marketing promotions for Film related products
Steelbooks did not exist back then wish they had off as I would have got them for free
