They rereleased Captain America and Thor not too long ago,and they were nowhere near 25 quid.

True. But neither of those releases had a 3D disk.

intresting reply my friend and not that i would ever want to disrespect you but when you come on here and say
you believe the price is justified its them kind of comments that make these companies think its ok to rip of us consumers,
there is no way the £25 price mark is justified this should be £17.99 tops as its a re-release,
most people already own it and if these companies want us to double dip they are going the wrong way about it,
just keep posting them comments and next year you will be paying £30,,

To be fair I clearly stated that only in exceptional circumstances should a steelie cost this much. You're making it sound like I'm happy for every steel to cost £25 which I suppose is the expected *** edited by Drum18 - Please stay polite *** reaction to what I said. I was just trying to take a balanced, realistic view on the relative cost of things. If they aimed for a £15 - £18 price point I seriously doubt they would go to town with things like the lenticular cover and 3D disc included, but then again some people prioritise price over quality. i understand where your coming from my friend this is a very popular movie
and the re-release so far looks nice and i love lenticular covers,
but at the end of the day these probably cost £1 to make tops in some chinese factory,
so i do get a little annoyed nothing personal buddy..

To be honest I don't mind paying this sort of price if it's an exceptional title (I think this qualifies), especially if there's 3D AND decent art or other incentives. I agree that the steelbook collecting game is not a cheap one, and I certainly would not want to pay this for every one, but in this case I think the price is justified in terms of other high end steelbooks. It ticks all the boxes I look for in a steelbook release and I hope it sells out and encourages studios to put this much effort into big releases more often - even if it's at a premium.

I think you people have a far too high opinion about yourselves. The same people moaned about the GotG Steelbook (Walkman). The fact remains that it sold out and the same moaners are now "looking for" a copy. Check Ebay prices to see who is angry about that design!!!!!
I think it's time some of you grew up.

Zavvi Avengers Assemble has 2D and 3D Discs
The HMV version is only 2D

I would not be surprised if you see the Iron Man 1/2/3 get steelbook re releases with Lenticulars as we know they would sell out

I Prefer the Zavvi Avengers Assemble Steelbook Artwork compared to the HMV steelbook as the Zavvi Steelbook has Title on the Spine and Front and it includes a Lenticular

I also have the German Release but put the Discs in the Avengers Viva Metal Case from USA

I quite like the HMV release. Plus the spine matches with the later marvel releases.
What is the 3d effects like on this ? as I have only seen the 2d version.
Just seems a tad expensive to me, especially as there is no real details as to what the steelbook is, ie gloss, if it's a lenticular magnet or sleeve, or if its embossed etc.

Jesus it didn't take long for this thread to go to hell in a hand-basket.

Also lets not have the argument about the people that collect two of every steelbook yes some of us find it weird but others do not @Agent_DVD no reason to announce your getting two its like you want to start that argument!

There should be a better way to watch a thread so we don't get updates for every small and insignificant problem someone has with said steelbook etc.
