I'm amazed by the almost fanatical following for this movie. I found the movie ok, quite good, but nothing about it that was particularly great and, on the whole, did not leave me a deep lasting impression. Am curious the reasons for the huge following.

All movies regardless have their own very loyal band of supporters. Drive is no exception, but I think if you hang out in collector's circles like us, it's a title that really gets mentioned a lot. I assume it's because of the HMV Steelbook and the Future Shop slipcover, but Drive has become a unicorn for collectors whether they like the movie or not. I don't completely understand this mentality though because as far as I'm concerned and from my own experience, there are plenty of other releases which are a heck of a lot rarer, impossible to find and fetch for even higher prices than those two.

The lack of a public apology or even acknowledgment by Novamedia is just disgraceful and an insult to everyone who had to sit at their computers for 3hrs+ - whether they managed to get an order in or not.

This. Nova's handling of the situation (or lack thereof) is what really gets my blood boiling. I don't think anybody's expecting them to pull a rabbit out of a hat, but even a stock apology would be nice, especially since this is the second time it's happened to one of their signature releases and that they're a new retailer. I've noticed that their rating on Facebook has dropped half a star too. It's not a major blow by any means, but still embarrassing. Then again, they already have their money so woop.

A blank slate protagonist is easily mistaken for being charismatic and aloof in my estimation. Add a stylish piece of wardrobe that stands out to identify that character and a subtle shift into how it deals with its themes - touchy feely gets as much screentime as the tough guy routine + music that services the mood you're supposed to be in while hanging with the dude - and you have the makings of a cult film... apparently. :D

the web site was crashing all over the place because of the massive in flux of people and the servers not coping are drive steelbooks sold out or are they still in stock and going to do a random go live again with out any warning so if you are lucky you will be on there at the right time so there web site does not get over loaded with people and crash the plot thickens or is it just sold out for real

Everything in my post is absolutely true. I even stated the only flaw with nova is the server issue. Nova has higher quality exclusives than zavvi by far. Its no contest.

I guess you can ignore it, but tons of people are flocking to the Korea exclusives while cancelling their zavvi orders. How can you even state that isn't true is just amazing and your in denial.

Everything in my post is absolutely true. You're the only person comparing the two here, most people are smart enough to realise that they don't have to place their eggs in one basket, that's the great thing about choice. A great Steelbook is a great Steelbook regardless of which retailer has exclusivity or the country they are based in. As for your last sentence, I didn't even comment on your retailer comparison, so I have no idea how you can reach that conclusion.

You can justify it to yourselves any way you like but given that you only have to look at any one of the 60 odd pages this thread jumped yesterday and in some cases just 1 post above your own, there's an awful lots of your ninja brothers (and sisters) who have missed out on getting this release

You then come on here basically gloating that you might trade yours, minutes after getting it - and even openly saying which high value title you would trade it for

Is it your perogative as a consumer - yes

Is it hugely disrespectful to other ninjas - most definitely yes

So true .. You're the man bro

has anyone tryed to click on the link to buy or see this product on nova media you will find a error page 401 not found 1 come up and if you type in drive steelbook it comes up with the same thing where have the drive steelbook pics gone

Yesterday was the worst online buying experience I've ever had, awful.

Ordered the full slip. Anyone else not had an email confirmation yet?
I don't have email confirmation from nova but there's PayPal email confirmation with item and order number that match my order info on nova site. So I think that's good enough.

1. on here basically gloating that you might trade yours, minutes after getting it

2.and even openly saying which high value title you would trade it for

1. I might trade it. Likewise some people that have grails might trade them for other things they've missed out on. I wonder if someone that really wants Drive has something that I really want and missed out on? That's how it works. Be thankful I didn't buy it with the sole intention of selling it for major profit.

2. No I didn't. I have nothing in mind.

Disrespectful would be smashing it on the street and posting a video of it on here just to break the hearts of someone that didn't get it.

In the meantime, there's also the possibility that I might actually keep it and treasure it as something important to me - but who knows. That's my decision to make.

if, say for example you have 2000 steelbooks for sale, and your server can hold 2000 people, then would you upgrade to a server that can hold 10,000, knowing you can not service 10,000 orders. For this reason i can not see nova media changing anything soon, just a thought might be wrong but seems logical.

@spass @earthscope @Hatori @harry @Marina Blue Did you have your copies my friends ? :ohno:

Hi TobinFrost! This release wasn't a big priority for me. I loved the back art/debossed scorpion, I don't care much for the front. The only thing I was interested in was the Tri-pack. The three variations were interesting to me. With my work schedule and already losing sleep from voting on election day here in the states, I wasted way too much time constantly going through the various checkout attempts. So I went back to bed and got a few hours sleep before I had to go to work. I wasn't about to waste anymore time on Novamedia's mess and rinky-dink website. I'm a big Mondo freak and have the Canadian "Drive" release locked up, which I'm looking forward to. I also have the HMV.UK "Drive" release from awhile back. I'm beginning to think Novamedia is out of North Korea rather than South. :p

Take Care My Friend!
