You can justify it to yourselves any way you like but given that you only have to look at any one of the 60 odd pages this thread jumped yesterday and in some cases just 1 post above your own, there's an awful lots of your ninja brothers (and sisters) who have missed out on getting this release

You then come on here basically gloating that you might trade yours, minutes after getting it - and even openly saying which high value title you would trade it for

Is it your perogative as a consumer - yes

Is it hugely disrespectful to other ninjas - most definitely yes
If you wanted this that badly then you would have tried harder. I was at work when this dropped. I work at a law firm and am quite busy all of the time. Even with the delay and work I still found time to get this. People need to realize that things aren't just going to be handed to you on a silver platter. Sometimes you need to put a bit more effort into it.

Then you should thank NM that you can show us that you put much effort into. My choice is the silver platter! NM need to realize that things are just going to be handed to customers on a silver platter! This is how a retailer should work, not otherwise (enough said to NM).

congrats to all who got what they wanted. I quit after 3 hours yesterday and that was 2,5 hours too much, even for this release.

Alternatively you could show a little empathy for those who missed out. I'm sure your view point would be different if you were one of those people.

It sucks to miss out, we've all been there - but Lordpercy was inferring that we're being disrespectful to everyone that didn't get one just because we want to own it for different reasons, and we were defending ourselves. I'm sorry for everyone that missed out that wanted one, but we were all in the same boat yesterday. I believe anyone that wanted one and kept trying would have got one. If they couldn't continue trying to get one that's Nova's servers fault (which absolutely need to sort their act out) and not ours.

I also find it amusing that I'm disrespecting fellow Ninja's yet I'm one of the ones that have paid to be here. I'm not saying that elevates me above anyone else because it doesn't - merely that it amused me to be called disrespectful to the community.

You obviously have no idea what the difference between luck and hard work is.

Yesterday was hard work, not luck. Eventually the servers worked for everyone, it was just persistence that meant we were still around when that point came. You can tell the point where they came back as everyone suddenly got successful orders through at the same time. The ones that missed out are the ones that either gave up or couldn't carry on trying.

Hard work? It would be hard work when nova would tell that it can take more than 3 hours to place an order. In this case nobody knew how much it could take.

edit: Maybe luck and patience.

Awesome time for me. I will have been home from work and relaxing waiting for this to drop.

A few pages ago you were relaxing at home while ordering, not at work.

Not everyone can sit by a computer or phone for over 3 hours straight regardless of what they are doing at the time. Lack of effort was NOT a problem yesterday for most that missed out.

Oiiiii.......Thread has degenerated into a personal attack royal rumble. Emotions are high on this release. Let's all take a chill :chill pill: pill and calm down a bit. NO need to gloat if you secured one and if not, I am sure other avenues will be available after release although it could be higher than the NM offer.

Its not ok for people be it at home or at work to be expected to spend over 2 hours or over 3 hours just trying to complete a checkout of an order
We all know with a high demand release that's very limited there will be some who will miss out and you will get an order in or it will be sold out before you get to complete checkout

What happened yesterday was a totally different situation
It did not matter if you had a day off and be at home with easy access to the internet be it fast or slow broadband or you had the ability at work to order if your employers allow you to do this and I doubt very much majority of employers would like to have employees spending 3 hours using the internet instead of working as most lunch breaks is only for an hour

What happened yesterday was a shambles from novamedia and no one should of have had to go through what we all experienced yesterday

If the servers capacity yesterday for Drive had of been correct it would have sold out in a few min and most people would have understood if they missed out and we would not have seen the frustration we all had to go through that should never have happened period

Its not that its sold out that is annoying people its the fact it was not possible to get your order in even if you had lots of free time

Can we please keep it friendly folks. Some people missed out on this release through no fault of there own. I don't think anyone should be expected to sit for 3 hours trying to put an order in. Some people don't have the time to do this. Can we try and not attack other members because they did/ did not manage to get hold of a copy. These arguments are pointless and just derail the thread. Thanks for your understanding.

No they wouldn't. They'd have been complaining that:

1. The go-live time was when a lot of them are at work/school/college
2. They were there bang on the go-live and still didn't get one - not fair
3. They opened it to everyone at once meaning people with faster internet got in first

There is no way Nova could have handled this to avoid complaints. The way it went down was seriously bad, but people that missed out would have complained just as vociferously regardless of why.

I got my copies through the group buy, so I am in the very lucky position of not being effected by the terrible issues with Nova's website that a huge number of other Ninjas were.

Many, many others sat at their keyboards and tired relentlessly for the best part of 3 odd hours and were still unlucky - that wasn't anything to do with people working hard or 'putting in a bit of effort' - what an utterly ludicrous thing to say!

As i said before, you can justify it to yourself anyway you like - and i'm all for people celebrating getting a hard to get steel, especially in the middle of the farce that Nova delivered yesterday - but to immediately turn around and talk about trading your extra is, as far as i'm concerned, disrespectful to all of those (and there are many) who weren't even able to secure a copy for themselves

Trade it, by all means, but do it in the trade forum - but don't rub it in the face of a lot of very disappointed ninjas in the middle of the thread!

One of the key things that attracted me to HDN is the community spirit of the place, I have met a few IRL and really enjoy talking to many ninjas here who share a passion of mine - and I've often seen sought after steels being passed on at face value to other ninjas that have missed out. Such is the community spirit of the place and one that you won't find in many others.
