My guess is that they will go on as planned through Best Buy. Just yesterday, I noticed the Interstellar steelbook showing store stock on Futureshop's website. I doubt they will be tossing all those copies, they will probably continue to sell them in the converted stores or transfer to existing Best Buy stores.

I'm curious what this means to the sites where they have a Future Shop in the same mall as a Best Buy. Where I live they're in the same mall - but the Future Shop has better customer service, the Best Buy is terribly mediocre. But that mall is probably done anyways. Right now it's a Best Buy, Future Shop and Target with nothing except a few empty halls and some weird stores in between.

Whats gonna happen to all the Mondo Steelbooks? Especially the upcoming Pan's Labyrinth. I didn't get a chance to pre-order

This was definitely a surprise. Thankfully my local FS will just be rebranding and not closing, but I still have concerns involving my current orders. My Battle of Five Armies steelbook shipped Monday and never arrived, so I am worried it is lost in the shipping process. If it is indeed lost, would Best Buy be able to assist with that? Lets hope going forward BB adopts the steelbooks and such from FS in Canada.

I'm having a similar issue, my First Blood Mondo X Steelbook still hasn't arrived, and normally I get these the day of release. I'm worried it's gotten lost from all this. And of course I just checked the tracking number and it's now leading to 404 errors.

You could try copying the tracking number from the receipt and pasting it into the Canada Post shipping tracker? I cannot do that because the tracking information I was provided simply never worked.

It's a real shame Future Shop is closing. They were one of the few stores that actually sold SBs regularly in the early days and they produced so many exclusive Video Game SBs as Pre-Order bonuses that were all mosty WEA. You will be missed Future Shop.

Not working, I just noticed on my receipt it said I paid the normal price but it doesn't say for what I paid, the description is blank. I'm sure this will take forever to get sorted out with customer service or I'll just have to rebuy it,

And I should have stated this before I started my own personal thing: This is terrible terrible news and I hope everyone who was working there is able to find a new job quicklyand are able to get their lives back on track.

I'm in the US but as I understand, FutureShop catered a little more to serious movie fans/collectors, whereas Best Buy is just another faceless corporation hawking everything from hair dryers to CDs. So has the world lost another dedicated specialty shop or will it be business as usual? Personally, I don't see BB committing to quality steelbooks on the same level as the FS exclusives. OTOH, if Mondo is going to continue the steelbook line and include all BB stores than that is a very good thing

I just got off the phone from BB customer service about this exact issue and I was basically told (if you used the free shipping) the tracking number they provide is bogus and they don't actually track through Canada post and if it hasn't arrived by Wednesday to call again when it's considered officially lost.

Welp, that's awful. Thanks for the update. I'll give them a call Wednesday, really hope it arrives before then though.

For those wondering about FS exclusive steelbooks going to BB, this may be of help. Although it is not definitive, it's encouraging.

I wanted to buy an exclusive product from Future Shop that you don’t carry at Best Buy. How do I buy it now?
