That is entirely up to and is your decision. My problem was this tactic from zavvi and has been mentioned before is that zavvi are trying to increase sales of their zbox by including a steelbook which should be released separately. What you and what people are doing by pre-ordering this, is saying to zavvi its ok I will pay more money for a steelbook as I get a zbox. This will increase zbox sales and allow zavvi to initiate a process where you will only be able to buy an exclusive steelbook from zavvi IF you get a zbox with it.

You are only buying this for the steelbook right? You yourself have said you will be selling the crappy zbox asap, so you are playing right into their hands. Just my opinion.

Bang on.
Its a shame everyone on here has not boycotted them.
We should be NinjaStrong

Give over, people can buy whatever they like and if they choose to sell the zbox and keep the steelbook themselves then it's for them to do so.

It's been said so many times in this thread and others that people are free to do what they want, however, frankly speaking having people like you chastise others for buying it for whatever reason is one of the real problems IMO.

HAHAHAHAHA whatever

People are free to order and buy what they want, never said they can't. All I said is It's a shame they was not boycotted which is my opinion and I'm allowed to say so

Lol read it again

I've been roped into this Zbox before and it's terrible which gives me evey right to let people know how crap they are.

Just like when someone buys a steel and posts a picture and then someone says "OMG looks terrible can't Believe you bought that- would never buy that unless it's £5 or less" its not nice to hear if your the one buying it but it's just an opinion. My opinion is don't buy into this cr*p and I'll stick by that

Nobody has directly said you can't buy this, but a number of members have been sure to bring the Zavvi hate train into this thread derailing it with nonsense and making those that order it feel guilty of doing so. You've also stated your opinion more than once in this thread which you've made clear you have no intention of buying. There's a Zavvi retailer thread, go post there.

It's not derailing when its about the product they are selling in this thread!
It's no different to any other thread where people have orderd that item and others saying "meh pass, or no thanks looks terrible".

Yeah I'll go to the zavvi retailer thread and post about this item then! Makes no sense.
I'll go there when it's an issue im having with zavvi and considering I have not messaged them about it i think I'll stay I here.
If people want to be positive or negative in here they can. And to be honest it's mostly negative in here until they sell this seperately.

One thing I'll say (again) and like most others have mentioned that this tactic only helps them for the future and that can change depending on what we do.
I don't want to keep seeing bundles with steels and a Zbox and the majority don't either or unless there is an option. Sorry it's being repeated but that is my main point.

Anyway, I wonder how long after the Zbox is shipped we will expect to see a seperate listing?

Let's keep it friendly on here folks, everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you want to continue this back and forth, take it to PMs. Thanks.

Sorry just see this. I'm finished with this convo anyway but if it continues I'll take it to PM

Well I've pre ordered it, only bought 1 Zbox before, I didn't particularly like anything in it but my son did and I'm sure he'll like what ever is in this one, he likes Zbox and I like steelbooks so win win for me.

Its not about if you like or dislike the Zbox Product

Anyone who want's to purchase a Zbox that's their right and reasons for doing so is not relevant

Anyone who want's to purchase a steelbook that's there right and reasons for doing so is not relevant

What is important is been able to choose what you want to purchase

I and other customers should have the choice to purchase a steelbook on its own and also have the right to purchase as a combination with another product in this case been a Zbox

Its very easily achieved giving a customer the choice
Steelbook is available on its own
Zbox is available on its own

Customer then if they wish to order both products at the same time if they want both but payment is only taken at despatch time with each item if they have different release dates
As an incentive to get customers to order both you offer a discount for ordering both at the same time

Problem with this release is they are both separate products but you only have 2 options at the moment
By the Zbox on its own or buy the Zbox and steelbook but don't have the option of purchasing just the steelbook
If Zbox contained the steelbook and the Zbox on its own was not available then it could be considered 1 item ordered

The only reason for the steelbook not available on its own is for Zavvi to end up with a bigger profit margin than if the steelbook was available on its own and if they continue this trend with other releases the only thing that will happen is lots of stock not selling that would have sold if it was available on its own

They then will have no choice but to make a steelbook available on its own to shift stock and when doing so annoy customers who already ordered a Zbox/Steelbook combination leaving future Zbox combinations getting even less orders

They are separate products that should at all times be available to purchase on their own and if a customer wants both order both that's fine

While I agree with you in principle, their is no 'right' to anything.

You have the option to buy a Z-box, a Z-box with an Iron Man steelbook or buy nothing at all. We have no right to just buy a steelbook, any more than I have a right to buy a new house for £1000 just because I can't afford one for £250,000.

I collect 1966 Batman toys. With Mattel's figures you have these options...

Batman
Batman & Robin (set of 2)
Batman, Robin & Batgirl (set of 3)
Batman & Robin with a Batmobile
Batgirl

Not much choice there if you just want Robin on his own. I have no right to be offered one either no matter how much I might want one. What I do have is the right to talk with my wallet. What that might mean though is that Robin remains missing from my collection.

I have no doubt that Iron Man will get an individual release. But if it doesn't, well, you have no right to complain. Morally, sure. Legally, no.

Zavvi will learn the hard way loss of profits due to lot of unsold stock and if Iron Man becomes available on its own after the Zbox has been shipped to customers they can expect one thing lots of returns of Zbox and refunds to give to customers

Its the worst retail decision I have seen with Music/Film retailer do since I have been in the business its only going to lead to one outcome unsold stock that normally would have sold

Zavvi should announce the steelbook available on its own ASAP in my opinion as they will seriously annoy lot of customers if the Steelbook becomes only available on its own after the Zbox has been shipped with those customers who only ordered the Zbox because they had no other option at the time
Zavvi would have easily sold out the steelbook in 1 day and possible in a few hours if it had of been available on its own

Is this issue really having to buy a zbox with this for £40 or spending £40 to get a steelbook?

Zavvi are within their right to sell this who whatever they want, look at the second wave of Guardians of the Galaxy steels they sold for £50. They couldve made this easily a £40 price tag.

Everybody in this world want something for nothing.

At least this way you're not gonna get people buying 20 copies then doing whatever they do with them. The zbox deal actually eliminates that kind of crap.

nice to see there is a complete split on opionon here for once.

one thing i would say to those that have to choose buying on this occasion, which is there complete choice.

have you thought about the possiabilty that each and every month a major steel comes from them and the only way to get is to buy with a zbox from now on as one thought.

and yes some of you may be able to afford that carrying on,some may not just buy again like this and not bother.

but there could be a greater majority that wont be able to afford that each month, has anyone thought of that?

anyway as paulboland said its should all be about choice his point is still vaild and helps every member on this site, like common sense for the consumer.

a little thought towards you fellow man goes along way in my book its a shame that we still live in the world of me!(myself inculded)

and @Apollon think we all need bobo to lighten the mood in here its all getting rather dark

I think everyone would rather just pay for and get the steelbook on its own.

This is where the 'fear factor' comes in. Is it worth the risk of missing out (if it doesn't get an individual release), or do you hope for the best and prove a point in the long run?

No one would be happy if this Z-box shenanigans becomes a common thing, we'll all lose out (or at least spend a lot more), and I certainly don't think it's the best idea Zavvi have ever had. I'm not getting this steelbook no matter what happens, but I do hope it becomes available for those who want it. I also hope the Z-box + steelbook is a failure too, as I know somewhere down the line it'll happen to a title I do want, then I'll be faced with the issue some are having now.

If or when that day comes, I think I'll hold out and hope for the best.

In the same breath Some of us don't like paying £40 for Asian steelbooks that come with all the extra cardboard, I'm not interested in the slip, a number card, art cards or lenticulars but we still pay it to get the steelbook and no one batters an eye lid or even when they released 4 different avengers films with 4 different slips! Why do that? To get more sales and more money but yet no body complains now that zavvi are doing it everybody is kicking off, a cardboard slip has the same value as a cheap comic in a Zbox to me, nothing.
