Fair exchange: Everytime Zavvi in the UK launch a limited edition steelbook it's at 3.30am for those of us on the otherside of the globe.

8pm is a pretty civilised hour this time around.
:oohyeah:

your comment here is confusing... mostly because your profile doesn't indicate where you are. i am also "on the other side of the world", and it's 3 am for me. not sure how it could possibly be 8 pm for you. you mean you are only 1 hour difference from korea?

anyway no biggie i just didnt understand.

No problem. I just meant that if you use something like this: http://www.freemaptools.com/tunnel-to-other-side-of-the-earth.htm

Then the UK (Zavvi) is opposite me and Madagascar (roughly) is opposite you on the globe. So many Aussies and Kiwi's who suffer through what for us is a 3am release time from London's Zavvi (6pm GMT) are happy that Kimchi's 7pm Korea launch is a more manageable 8pm time slot for us.

right. so you are from Australia then? i fully understand.

was just trying to figure out where you could be located.

also... i like that kimchi has the sense to change up the times for different regions. i was just participating in the ol' obligatory complaining since this particular release falls in at a horrible time for west coast usa. :D

Did I see the specs right? No lossless audio???

If that's the case, it's probably an identical transfer to the German release, which has lossy audio but the correct aspect ratio. That's ok with me, as the PQ on the German is said to be quite good.

Some have stated on another forum that the 1.78 editions are open-matte, but in watching the 1.78 DVD rip I doubt this is the case. There are many scenes where important info would be lost top & bottom were it cropped. I don't have a 2.35 transfer to compare, but I feel pretty confident the wider aspect is the one to get; it's the intended presentation anyway.
