'Rare'/'Limited'/'Hard(er)' To Find SteelBook/Other Metal Eds List & Chat

*PLEASE NOTE: This list is a 'guide' only and compiled based on a variety of factors including community 'feedback' and 'suggestions'. Steelbook collecting is HIGHLY SPECULATIVE, and different collectors have different ideas of 'rarity', 'limited', 'sought after', and related terms-all of which may change at the drop of a hat with re-releases, or new info.

I posted this in another forum before but I prefer this one, so I try again here. This is an ongoing list that combines a variety of factors that may contribute to the scarcity or rarity of these Steelbooks.-Sirjump

We started off with a "ranked" list, but as many folks may rank items differently, a general "resource" list of harder to find Steelbooks/Rare titles helps the community more. Feel free to comment so we can consider adding or subtract. -Digitalbabe

* Availability at retailer & exclusivity
* Print run
* Country of origin & region code
* Steelcase design
* (Initial) price
* Individually numbered items
* Print Errors
* Hype
* Price on 3rd party marketplaces

Chandler, each poll has a 25 choice max, and this list changes. Originally we tried a top 10, but everyone had a different opinion, so now it's more of a 'guide' where each person can get an idea of what items are 'more' rare or a bit more difficult to get. Items have been removed and added as they become more and more rare.

Sorry I have been slacking off (actually busy procuring steelbooks ). Seriously, this list, as I know it, is based on members' feedback so if there is "consensus" in the discussion that a particular title/edition belongs on this list, I will add them on the list. At the moment, the KR titles seem to be the ones most members agree should go on this list. I guess I am just looking for more than a handful of posts claiming a steelbook is rare to put it on this list.

Ash, correct, as we did before, this particular 'guide' is exactly what-some frame to help collectors, but not a 'top 5, top 10, etc', since things are evolving rapidly. Thanks for all you continue to do to keep this type of more 'general' resource manageable

If memory serves me right they re-released/reprinted this in identical packaging even down to the slip & barcode. Yes I'm one of the sad bas**rd who's got both. As a result was dumped off the list .

They are not classed as rare yet because you can still order them. I'm pretty sure down the line as always with Asian Steelbooks though they will become more sought after.
