Release Schedule (SUBJECT TO APPROVALS!) - We would like to let you know our direction over the next few releases and as stated above, these are subject to approvals. We are taking on board suggestions of movies without steelbook releases but we need some sort of foot in the market before doing so. However, some of those titles have already been brought up in a meeting today, so hopefully we can progress further with those soon.

This schedule is planned to have full Exclusive SteelBook designs (Not just flipped artwork exclusivity). All would feature the same setup as Shaun of the Dead; Full Slip, Lenticular & Blu Box.

Casino EE 002
Hot Fuzz EE 003
Oblivion EE 004
The Worlds End 005

Thank you to everyone supporting us, please let us know you thoughts on the titles above!!

Yes, it's TBC#3 . . . added to the previous two TBCs . . . and judging by the reaction it's in 2nd place behind TBC #2 and just in front of TBC#1.
'Strewth.

The more I look at the new proposed front art the more I'm really going off it

Bring back the last mock up please (or just something better than the current one)

I'm of the belief that a sensible and rational grown-up debate on the merits or otherwise of this steelbook is still possible but only if the pitchforks and the mob mentality are both put on the back burner.

. . . so, I'll try again, with a few points that may be relevant to the topic in hand and . . . to reiterate - just my own personal opinion/point of view.
You may ask "Why do you bother?" To that I'd say, "Good question" and, "I'll let yos know when I come up with a rational answer . . ."

Anyway:-
I see that TBC#2 is the preferred choice of the three revealed so far but no-one has explained why that is preferred to #3 for example.
The only objection to #3 I've read is to do with the reproduced image from the film of Simon Pegg leaning against a wall. My opinion is that the Pegg image on the steelbook is not a problem and that his stance doesn't look awkward or weird with just the top half of his body visible. Only weird if the whole body, bent legs an' all, are on the steelbook without the wall to lean against.

Personally not a fan of #2 because it's too similar to most of the DVD and BD Amaray case artwork. It's not a bad cover with the two leads and it's for sure a popular cover having been used on so many releases already . . . maybe that's why I'm not a fan of it as it's been used so much . . . or, dare I say it, overused.

Now, if the objection to #3 is that it doesn't match the artwork on part one of the Cornetto Trilogy (the SHAUN OF THE DEAD steelbook) and the most important thing is to match that steelbook as closely as possible, then a combination design would be the answer I feel:-

Yes, bear with me (lol)
BACK ART
Busy, to match SHAUN back art.
- Remove the title
- Remove the two spectral figures . . . or . . . keep Dalton and replace Nighy.
- Lower Pegg and Frost and cityscape . . . just enough to make room for one of the taglines from the film as a header - maybe something like, "BIG COPS. SMALL TOWN. MODERATE VIOLENCE" .
So, on the back (just as on the SHAUN steelbook), you'd have a tagline descriptive of the image below - as in, the two "big cops" image above the "small town" which is showing signs of "moderate violence" (granted, burning buildings is maybe not "moderate violence") :-

With modification to the design the new steelbook could match SHAUN quite well - if that's the main reason for the dislike of #3 and of primary importance to folks.

From my point of view this steelbook doesn't have to match the SHAUN OF THE DEAD steelbook to be part of the Trilogy set. HOT FUZZ should have original artwork that can stand up by itself (unlike SHAUN which was little more than a vertical copy of an horizontal steelbook already out there).

Regarding #3 I find it no worse than these few examples in not totally dissimilar style of steelbook cover art already out there:-

The main reason I dislike #3 is because it looks like someone knocked it up in photoshop at 4:55pm on a Friday evening. It like something I would expect be offered in a pub for £5. It's a nightmare. Much the reason I don't go for Mondo art as it looks far too busy for my liking.

I'm not bothered if it the other designs look like amaray artwork because sometimes the artwork used on amarays is better than that on steels. As the artwork for the previous HF steels aren't great then amaray artwork, slighty tweaked, would be welcome. Plus you have to consider that Studios don't always approve artwork that isn't already out there so you'll get some repeats.

I also prefer the other mock-ups as they are much in keeping with the feel of the film especially the end. I feel if EB are going for consistency with the Cornetto Trilogy (which I'm sure they did mentioned int he early days of the apocalyptic SOTD thread) then having this match the SOTD steel would make sense.

#2 would be awesome with spot gloss on Pegg, satin finish and a debossed title.

I love this film and just want to see it done justice in a nice steel especially if fans like us have some say in the final outcome. At present I wouldn't buy it if that photoshop hellspawn was the final product.

Thank you for your civil, civilised and reasonable response

^ I was wondering how long it would take for the HDN yobboes to appear out of the woodwork and lower the tone . . . again
Now where are your equally yobbish mates?

There's no "mob mentality" in this thread, just the general consensus that the most current proposed art is f*cking terrible.

Oh look, I managed to make a post less than 10 paragraphs long and without containing numerous copy/pastes from google images

Lol seriously what is this guy on?

All I've seen in here are civilised responses with people giving actual feedback instead of a Wikipedia answer

I'd rather have yob mates than no mates

If people don't like the art and be harsh then it's only tough love. Things these days aren't cheap...people just want the best for their money, it's why a lot of us spend a crap load of money on Blufans steelbooks

If I could get a big fish and slap the hell out of someone at Disney to make them release something like Blufans packages over here I gladly would...not because I'm mean...but out of...love ;)

I want to support this because I want a Cornetto Trilogy set, but honestly I haven't liked a single one of these artworks yet.

This any better ? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ or, if not, then maybe 'tis an idea for the front of Cornetto Trilogy slipbox should it ever appear:-

Designed to go with the other two in The Cornetto Trilogy . . . but just fine as a standalone.

. . . or this one which I personally find a bit off-putting:-
