Mine arrived today and just got around to opening it.

Stunning release, I really won't bother with pics as a few of you have captured this perfectly plus me and mickle have similar style of photos and will just annoy people.
(I might just take one with all the contents out and one of all my current manta editions - tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day too)

@Mickle_89 getting a bit dark here and I prefer to study them in natural light but from what I can see I'm much happier with the front lenti than I thought I would. Has decent depth IMO and okay movement considering the material used, I was really expecting a zavvi/ Disney/ marvel style lenti magnet depth and movement in my head and this is much better so maybe thinking like that worked in this case lol.

Front of my steel seems flawless but the back has some hairlines and a pimple dent :( so I'm a bit annoyed with that.

But manta have done very well with this

Also I didn't realise the booklet was a glossy/ plastic (whatever you call
It) type material, I actually thought it was a nice material with a gold foil symbol so that surprised me. They could of done better with that IMO

Also the exclusive sticker (not lenti) is well chunky this time around.
I do love their different stickers and lenti cards to match each film. Makes them that bit more special

Looking forward to the next and I'm happy with them taking their time instead of crying out for news in threads acting impatient (that goes for any premium retailer tbh)
Glad to hear yours arrived and you're happy with it buddy  (minus the back of the steel thing...). Your method of thinking could have certainly helped lol. But as I said earlier, upon looking at mine more and more, I definitely warmed to it compared to how I first felt

My lenti just arrived, cheers for sorting out the GB @Aniv

I love the PET lenticular slipcase. The fact that it's lenti all round is simply superb! However, in usual Manta fashion my steelbook is not mint; covered in scratches on the front (my Man of Steel arrived chipped and my Constantine also arrived with scratches). I find that, just like Blufans, this is the area that Manta need to address as everything else is superb. The steelbook is brilliant, let down by poor QC

I really don't understand the poor QC from Asian retailers. Don't they actually check their steels before sealing them up? It's as if they think we will just accept it and hope we don't complain about the issue. Also a majority of premiums are kept sealed and most would never know. I really do think something needs to be done about it.

It's a good job @Sigill doesn't open his steels. Simon be having a nervous breakdown all the time  :p

My zavvi steels have a much higher success rate and all of them opened!

The problem is not the Asian retailers. The problem is, was and continues to be the gloss process of the steelbooks at the China plant. That is why many retailers advertise to have the steelbooks produced at the Denmark plant (Plain Archive for example). Check the original Jack Reacher steelbook which was done in Denmark and compare it to Kingsman or Tangled (kimchi) and you can see the specific differences in the gloss finishes. China's quality is much lower in this regard.

Sorry but I disagree. Regardless of where the steelbook is manufactured they are the retailer selling this have a complete responsibility. You cannot divert the blame to where they are made. That is the issue the retailers have to resolve and take responsibility. I purchased a steelbook from X retailer and I expect it to be mint. I don't care if it was made in Denmark or Mars. So far the retailers have not fulfilled my order of supplying an item that is brand new but defected. If we don't complain and actually do anything about it, the retailers will continue to keep selling us defected steelbooks.

That's a shame mate, hopefully QC is improved by the time Fight Club comes around, if that's high gloss black the scratch's will stand out like a sore thumb.

I'm in agreement with you. I'm not saying the retailers shouldn't be held at fault - maybe I didn't convey my thoughts correctly. The retailers do hold a bit of responsibility here, I'm just saying that their source has a lower standard of QC than others. They DO however have the option to use other sources such as how PA does.

I understand where you are coming from. However, although the retailer didn't manufacture the steelbooks they still made a choice to have a contract with the company that manufactures them. If it's not the standard that is required they can go somewhere else. But it is such a common issue now going on for so long you would had thought the retailers would be fully aware of this. But very little has changed.

It's no different from say buying a blu-ray player. It breaks down, you go to the manufacturer, the company that built this. They state that some of their components were made from different countries that had issues which caused the breakdown. Sorry but not my fault. I blame you the company still as they 'sold' this to me, not where the components that had issues were made from.

So I sold some premium Steelbook on eBay. Someone opened it and saw scratches and raised return request. So as a seller I am responsible to sort it by accepting it to avoid being given a negative feedback. Disclaimers are of no use unless the buyer is understands that it is a part of collecting.

So the responsibility here lies with the retailer. It is quite frustrating but sadly life is not fair.

Of course it is the retailer or third party seller to blame. No one is going to complain to Scanavo or China or whether it is manufactured. You sold me a defected steelbook, that's it I want my money back!

When we buy defected Zavvi steels we complain to Zavvi, not to disney, not to scanavo. Although technically Zavvi have nothing to do with the manufacturing of the steelbooks they still have a responsibility. If the problem persists they have a duty to take this up to the roots where it was manufactured and rectify the problem. We keep complaining over the slightest defect from Zavvi but yet most of us do nothing against premium retailers.

Got my one click today. Well impressed by the slips. They are all amazing imo

Is anybody else with the one click finding that the inside material leaves loads of black residue on the slips ?

And for the price it costs I'm not happy about this :(

Big thanks for @Aniv for the smooth GB :)
