Vancouver (Canada - British Columbia) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 05:00:00 PDT UTC-7 hours
New York (U.S.A. - New York) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 08:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours
Paris (France) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 14:00:00 CEST UTC+2 hours
Corresponding UTC (GMT) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 12:00:00

-1x copy per slipcover (2x copies for slipcover was sold out too fast like 7 min, That's why kimchi put more restriction for quarter slip release)
-5x copies per lenticular

here is technical problem solved so far

after you pay via paypal, you will automatically return to main page of kimchidvd and you can go to order page to check if your order is completed.

(previous kimchi, does not provide automatic payment completed by paypal, only kimchi handle one by one to complete order by manually matched with paypal transaction. it's kind of big burden and many problem happened)

and another announcement for shipping

Small packet is removed, K-packet applied for all of item sold in kimchidvd
K-packet is slightly expensive than small packet but there is lots of benefits

- Printed slip with tracking number
- End-to-End tracking with delivery confirmation (No lost shipment)
- Reasonable cost than EMS
- generally takes 5-15 days (EMS: 5-10 days, Small packet 15 -35 days)

but some member are curious why kimchidvd changed shipping method

From T2 kimchi release, Kimchi handled more than 1,000 box to ship out to post office KR, this is a big volume of post office KR to handle only for one store.

so post office does not allow kimchi to accept small packet any more :(
and asked kimchi to change K-packet rather than small packet due to too many package in one or two day.

after changed of k-packet, pack & shipping process is much more faster than small packet and very reliable shipping method in terms of tracking.

even now, some of member did not received T2 kimchi after shipping process done at 26th June because no tracking available for small packet.

1 or 2 steelbook for shipping charge between small packet & k-packet is only difference around 2$

please kindly understand kr post office policy for massive volume of shipment like over 1,000 boxes and more powerful tracking for lost shipment protection.

Thanks

Lazy re-release. There are thousands of other more deserving films. Blatant cash-in on an "impossible to get hold of" steel.

Saying that, it will no doubt sell out very very quickly.

Guys, I gotta be honest with you. This is one title that I feel will do very serious harm to the original Jp version. The JP version never came sealed, there in lies the problem. Anyone can open this new Korean version, and claim it is the Jp version. If this new version is opened, there is no distinction between the 2. Without any identifying stickers or slips, the original can take a very large dip in price. Think about it, would you risk paying grail like prices for a steel, if there is a good chance that it is an opened korean version, instead of the original Jp version.

If you have this title, I strongly suggest you let yourself be heard about the reprinting of this title. When sealed, it can easily be differentiated from the Jp version due to stickers and slips. Anyone can open this, and claim it is the Jp version, which never came sealed or with any stickers. I do not have this steel, so it doesn't matter to me either way. But I swear, if this artwork is exactly the same as the Jp version, it will be a disaster to all the people who paid grail like prices for it. You've been warned.

Do not worry to harm origianl JP one

This is not re-print one,
Re-release one with embossed & debossed
And inner artwork will be totally different

So each has own chacteristics, pros and cons

I do not worry like this problem will be happened in the future even if I have origianal JP one

I hope everybody enjoy this great movie and own copy for luc besson collection :D

Ok Choi, that is true. If this steel is clearly different from the Jpn one, it will preserve the Jpn one. I feel that there is no point in destroying grails by doing reprints. It will make all the collectors give up this hobby. And no one feels good about buying from a retailer blatantly cashing in on a grail to the grail's detriment.

I thought i was over the stage where i got super exited by a Steelbook release but this has proved that im not.

I've spoken before about regret at turning down the chance to get this on release in Japan because the shipping was high, and i'd about given up on getting this in a steel

Great news, needless to say, day 1 for me! :scat:

What a disapointment, I agree with some of the posts above in that this really stinks of a cash in on the Japanese grail rarity.

I was looking forward to collecting all the kimchi titles but I won't be buying this as its not a movie I have any interest in owning :(

Look at the description my friend: same artwork as the Japanese one, but with quarter slip to match the art, embossing and debossing (the Japanese one is flat and was never sealed).

Le Grand Bleu has to be one of the most elusive steels out there, only a fraction of collectors have it.

Re-releasing an item almost nobody has, with enhancements should be considered great news. I myself couldn't be happier :D

Do you then think that my Japan one will be less valuable then this one?

I really don't give a rats a** , im going to be all over this one , because like you said with such enhancements - just cant leave it alone.

Thanks for posting

Take caer

I think this is great news! Love the film and obviously don't have the grail version.

Bring it on! :scat:

Must admit that I'm wondering about the wisdom of a 2000 print run for a subtitled French art movie. T2 took a while to sell out and it's a far more popular release than this one.

I can see the first 1000 with the artcard selling fairly quickly, then another 1000 staying in stock for quite some time. I only hope Tony doesn't get lumbered with these, as that could impact the release of future Kimchidvd exclusives.

I agree, this seems like an ill-advised film selection for their 2nd exclusive.

sorry to say but if that is the case then it serves them right for choosing this movie instead of something more commercial !

Mixed feeling about this, but will I buy it!! well of course I will as I'm a completest and once you pop you can't stop, gotta keep my KimchiDVD collection complete and up-to-date, it's a hobby and nothing more, take it or leave it it's your choice ;)

i'm one of the few who want this because of liking the movie. i always wanted to own it, im really happy i have a realitic chance to get it now.

second thought as a collector im not happy about re-releasing same artworks. especially of the grails. this would be a really great release with a diffrent artwork (no changing inside art not really count for me).

after all i will buy it but i have strongly mixed feelings because ofthe same artwork.

Yes, it will probably be better than the Jpn one. From memory, I think this is the first time a re release is better than the original?

Argo, The Town and kimchi exclusive #1 pops in my mind right now. gues there will be more.

A re-release like this is nothing but a re-release, a future grail or not, for true hardcore collectors the original (with the sticker/slip) will always be THE one to get regardless of what a re-release looks like or has better extras, and this is especially the case for Asian releases (bcs of the slips).

For example, grails like Gladiator/CA/TS (TW) etc will never gets beaten by a re-release bcs of the slips UNLESS TW re-release them with better slips which could then affect their status, however that won't be the case if another country does that, well at least that's how I see it.
