The disc will be the same as the new US Special Edition

Here's something that's made me very happy. From the PR company -

Hi Matt,

I hope you are well, please find attached the press release for Pain & Gain. I am pleased to confirm that the UK release will feature the same extras as the US special edition release.

Kind Regards

Kerry

Latest update from Zavvi
Still waiting on finalised artwork.

The finishes are overall matte varnish, except for a spot UV gloss on Mark and Dwayne on the front cover.

There’s a pantone red on their names on the front cover, and emboss on the title treatment.

Confirmed as 1000 units only and from the traffic and questions we are getting, think this will only last a couple of days at the most before selling out.

Thats how you do a matte finish. Zavvi releases seem to be better when they're not exclusive to the UK. This steel released everywhere in the world turned out very nice.
Agreed! I actually used to prefer matte over gloss back when it was done properly, so seeing this steel takes me back to the good ol' days of when I first started collecting. I just noticed how clear/sharp the interior art is on this too... I'm very happy with the steelbook overall. :D

Yeah, same as Anchorman. Nice to see they've turned the brightness up on the internal art. Alot of steels this year had dark internal artwork.

Maybe we've turned the corner? :D

My guess is their allowing for returns to come back and replacements to be sent out before they release them now

Anyone noticed or received their P&G steelbook with the effect in the bottom front corner of the SB. I've received all the groupbuy steels I host at another site and they all have the same thing in exactly the same position...

What effect? All I can see is the spot glossed characters and weights and then you have the little part in the corner that just has the regular finish. They probably should have continued the gloss, but it doesn't look too bad in my opinion.

It looks very much like a paint defect from the pressing. It's Matt but should be gloss.

That corner is part of the background though (behind the weights), so it's as it should be... background is matte, foreground is spot gloss.

As Noodles said, that is how it is supposed to be. If you look carefully you'll see that it occurs in the gap between The Rock's arm and his body and also between Mark Wahlberg's Arm and The Rock's arm too. It's just spot gloss on the characters as promised. I do think it would have looked better with that little section glossy too, but it's not a big deal for me personally.

This steelbook was a nice surprise as I wasn't expecting much. As others have mentioned the Matt finish is a good one and I like it. The title is nicely embossed to a good standard on this one and combined with really nice spot gloss on the characters so overall this is a must for any collector keeping in mind the very limited run this could become fairly sought after fairly quickly.
