Steelbook collecting is HIGHLY SPECULATIVE, and different collectors have different ideas of 'rarity', 'limited', 'sought after', and related terms-all of which may change at the drop of a hat with re-releases, or new info.

I posted this in another forum before but I prefer this one, so I try again here. This is an ongoing list that combines a variety of factors that may contribute to the scarcity or rarity of these Steelbooks.-Sirjump

We started off with a "ranked" list, but as many folks may rank items differently, a general "resource" list of harder to find Steelbooks/Rare titles helps the community more. Feel free to comment so we can consider adding or subtract. -Digitalbabe

Problem with HMV steels in regards to rarity is many of their print runs are 20k, 30k, 50k etc.

but just doesnt explain why Captain America & Thor UK are Big $$ spinners ??

where as you can get the same steelz from EU for almost half the cost

goes totally against , what we gauge Value / worth & rarity on ??

I think , that its like I said before , most Collectors want English Text on Front & back , and most Collectors are not Slip Hunters or Stamp / Sticker Collectors either

It's funny that you mention the "slips". I'm a huge slipcover fan when it comes to regular amarays with slips, but I couldn't care less about the quarter and half pieces that come on steelbooks. Weird huh?

That's was definitely not a 2.000 print run.

But that's what at least 2 of the sellers on eBay mentioned, maybe they just wanted to create a rare image for this steelbook by lying about the print run . But anyway seeing the trend that it is not available anywhere apart from maybe a single piece on eBay?!....do you think it's rare enough to make it to the list?

Not sure if this qualifies as its a worldwide release but the play.com terminator salvation seems to be almost impossible to find sealed it took me ages to track down a copy even on evil bay they are impossible to get hold of......

Drive HMV Exclusive. Not too hard but getting hard(er). And when you do find a sealed copy, prepare to pay over £45.00 for it.

Cabin in the Woods. 100% Factory Sealed will be getting harder to find. Re-sealed ones have lost their value.
